On June 16, Fairway Market held Fairway’s Firefighter Food Face-Off. It was The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol vs. Noroton Heights Fire Department vs. Stamford Fire Department. In an epic battle of ribs, burgers, and vegetable skewers, The Cos Cob Fire Police Patrol smoked the competition–double pun definitely intended. For winning, they won a $500 Fairway gift card and also received an amazing honor. They were allowed to pick a charity that would benefit from a special shopping night at Fairway where 25% of registered sales went right to their favorite cause.

Their charity of choice: Neighbor to Neighbor of Greenwich. They provide food, clothes, and other necessities to families in need. Believe it or not, they feed 275 families per week. So, it’s pretty amazing for them to get a HUGE 25% of registered sales. The fundraiser goes down on Wednesday, 7/25/12 from 4 to 9 pm. All you need to do to help raise money is register when you enter Fairway of Stamford then shop, shop, shop. When you check out, make sure to give your form to the cashier.
You might remember that on July 11, Fairway had a fundraiser for Officer Troy Strauser, who had fallen 20 feet during a foot chase. This commitment to the community and to the people who protect us is part of what makes Fairway an awesome place to shop. Fairway Market also provides firefighters with a discount at all eight Fairway Market locations!
Look, you’ve gotta buy food, right? Just buy it Wednesday and do some good.
