People have been moaning and groaning, drooling in anticipation for Dinosaur Bar-B-Que to open.
Is it open?
When will it open?
It has to open soon!
OmNomCT…do you know when it will open?
Well, we’ve still got some time before that happens, but you can get your first licks in on September 22 from 4-8 pm. Just stop by during that time at 711 Canal Street (by Fairway Market and Yale and Town) for the first annual Harbor Point Block Party, part of Stamford Lights. OmNomCT officially endorses this and thinks this could prove to be epically awesome.
So, yes, let’s get focused. BBQ kind of has that effect on us, you know? You might remember that we announced that Dinosaur was trying to get a spot in Stamford, then everybody went crazy when we found out it was a done deal. Heck, we even got to talk to the grand pitmaster and awesome BBQ god himself, John Stage. People swear by their BBQ (and swear if they don’t get theirs) so we’re sure that people want their first tastes to see what the big fuss is about.
Now, that’s just a tiny portion of this great block party. You’ll also have other great food specials from Harlan Social, Le Pain Quotidien, and more. As we get more info (you can check here if you’re a DIY kind of person), we’ll update this. Toss in some free live music from Billy Genuario (4-6) and Blues Patrol (6-8) and you’ve got it made. Plus, First Niagara Bank was kind enough to sponsor a Family Fun Zone, so you can drop the kids off while you get some BBQ sauce all over your face and maybe devour the short ribs from Harlan Social.
Looking at the bigger picture, this is just ONE event of a four day celebration that Stamford has created this year called Stamford Lights. There are so many more things going on like the Food Festival, and of course the famous Arts & Crafts on Bedford to look forward to. We’ve put the events together in our September Connecticut festival guide, so check it out.
So, who’s going?
