Update: we went to random number generator and out shot numbers 3 + 5. That means that Kristen and Olga won. Congratulations. If you didn’t win, please still come down. :P
Back in 2009, The Sound Magazine started an event to raise money for PAWS of Norwalk that highlighted local music and breweries. As each year went on, the event grew bigger and bigger. This year, the Harvest Festiv-Ale will be at Monster B’s in Stamford. There’s plenty of room there for people…and for beer. The sudsy festival will take place on October 20 from 3 pm until closing time (time for you to go back to the places you will be from). +5 points if you get the reference.
15 different breweries will be represented with over 50 different beers to choose from. Here is just some of what to expect:
- Lake Placid Brewery: Pumpkin Ale, Festbier, Autumn Rye & More
- Saranac Brewery: White IPA, Octoberfest and Pumpkin Ale
- Pyramid Brewery (we visited recently): Hefeweizen, Apricot, Oktoberfest and Snow Cap
- Widmer Brothers: OKTO Festival Ale, Falconers IPA (Rotating Series), Nelson Imperial IPA, Pitch Black IPA, Old Embalmer Barley Wine, SxNW
- Goose Island: TBA
- Half Full Brewery: TBA
You can also chow down on some great Oktoberfest style food from The Park Cafe from Greenwich who will be on hand.
There will also be live music from The MSM band and Stalking Sally.
Entry is $15, the day of or $10 if you get your tix at Monster B’s through Friday. Remember that your entrance fee will help PAWS in their quest to rescue homeless pets and place them in perfectly fur-friendly new homes. Be sure to drink up when you’re there because 10% of drink sales will go to PAWS! Also, you’ll definitely want to check out the hourly raffles to win great prizes and packages from Ridgefield Playhouse, Capitol Theatre, and Sport N Life.
So, want a pair of tickets to Harvest Festiv-Ale or how about two pairs of tickets? Yes, OmNomCT and Harvest Festiv-Ale have you covered. Simply reply to this post with your favorite seasonal brew and we’ll enter you into our contest. We’ll end the contest on Thursday, 10/18 at 5 pm with two winners, each receiving a pair of tickets. Good luck, randomly generated friends.

Hey, we know what you meant. :) We need to try that one. We were at Coalhouse Pizza last week and a person we sat next to was raving about that! :)
Any idea if this event is reasonably family friendly or not? Thanks.
Wondering if anyone has insight as to the viability of this event being reasonably family friendly…it starts at 3. Also will the kitchen be open during the event? Thanks.
Let us ask for you and see what we can find out! :)
Greenport harbor’s leaf pile! Best pumpkin/seasonal by far
Love the pumpkin ale from Stamford’s very own Half Full Brewery!!
Olga, we are very jealous that you had the Pumpkin!n we need to try that one stat!
We’ll start: Dan’s really liking the Dogfish Head Pumpkin’. They actually use REAL pumpkins in the brewing process, not just flavoring. :)
