The results are in!

We told you all about how wickedly awesome Chowdafest V is going to be a while ago, remember?  Well, we got an e-mail from Chief Chowdahead, the Sultan of Soup himself…Jim Keenan.  While we were disappointed that some of the restaurants dropped out of the contest, we’re also very excited to hear that a few new ones entered the race.  We’ve been updating our original post to reflect those changes, but that’s already such a huge post and we didn’t want to make it even bigger, so we’re sharing the final entries with your here.  You’ll see the three categories and the soups that each restaurant will be preparing.  If you see “R” under Years, that means they are new to Chowdafest.

For the last 2 Chowdafests, we felt very confident in predicting the winners in each category, but we’re not so sure of ourselves this year around.  We’ve got some pretty great sounding chowders and soups to taste!  Do you think Mansion Clam House, The Ginger Man, and Crab Shell will be able to defend their soup bowl crowns?  Well, you’ll just need to come by and find out.  Remember that YOU hold the power to decide who the winners are.

Remember that this all goes down on February 3 from 11 am to 4 pm at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport.  Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for kids, and free for kids five or younger.  Money raised will help Connecticut Food Bank fight hunger.  Also, don’t forget to bring non-perishable food donations with you!  For more info check our first post and the Chowdafest Blog.

Hefty spoonfuls of love,

Dan and Kristien

Your readers should be sure to try the Wave Hill Breads samples, too! Our breads are now available at the Stop & Shops in Norwalk, Wilton, Ridgefield, and Westport. On February 1, they will be available in Stamford and Fairfield, too. Thanks, Margaret
