Rocking an Online Restaurant Review Video from Our Ignite Stamford Talk

11 Mar

On January 31, Ignite Stamford made its triumphant debut at the Stamford Innovation Center.  The premise of all Ignite talks is keep it fun, keep it enlightening, and keep it entertaining…all fit into 20 slides that auto advance every fifteen seconds, making up a five minute speech.  Now, that might seem like it’s not a big deal, but when you’re up there in front of people and those slides advance before you’re ready, you need to think fast!

It just so happened that we had applied to talk at the inaugural event and were accepted.  Our speech, “How to Rock an Online Restaurant Review” took us quite a while to put together, but by the time we were done with it and done practicing, we were very happy with the results.  Oh, and as you watch the video, know that the video didn’t pick up all the laughing too well.  Trust us…people were laughing at our jokes! :)

We had such a great time that night and really loved listening to the other speakers talk, learning about their lives, and seeing the world through different eyes.  If you’d like to speak, there’s just a little more time (by end of Day, March 23) to apply for the next event that is being held on May 9 at 7 pm.

Even if you don’t want to speak, you definitely should get a ticket and stop by.  Tickets sell out fast, so make sure that you snatch them up real fast.  Also, make sure to follow Ignite Stamford on Twitter and Facebook for updates and more details.
