Buk buk bagockkkk!
Ah, such finer sounds are hard to find at the farm, but would you expect to hear chickens at people’s homes in Westport? We’re asking this question to you, so you must expect that we’ll begin to share that there are actually lots of homes in Westport that have coops in their backyards. Guess what? There are lots of people in Westport who are raising chickens in their very own backyards…and Wakeman Town Farm is highlighting these coops with their 2nd Annual The Westport Chicken Coop Tour.
You’ll start off on
May 25 June 1 at Wakeman Town Farm from 9-10 am. When you arrive, special guest Lauren Scheuer (writer and illustrator for American Girl) will be there, giving a free chicken keeping workshop. She’ll also be selling and autographing copies of her latest novel, Once Upon a Flock.
Then, from 10-2 pm, pay just $10, and you’ll get a map of Westport homes that have chicken coops. You’ll then take a self-guided tour around Westport, checking out chickens, coops, and meeting the great chicken herders/keepers/philosophers/aficionados of Westport!
Wakeman Town Farm will have refreshments for sale and will have Wakeman Town Farm logowear for sale. Who doesn’t want to have a shirt, sweater, or hat that says WTF? WTF?!
