When we lived in Rye Brook, we’d often travel into Port Chester and check out some great restaurants like Q, Sonora, or try the countless restaurants that were serving up ceviche.  Now that we’re in Greenwich, we’re even closer to Port Chester, so we travel in quite often and have discovered one of our favorite places:  Coals.  Well, we’re excited to share the third annual A Taste of Port Chester, 2013.  This event is taking over nearly the entire downtown area of Port Chester on June 2 from noon to 3:30 pm with registration beginning at 11:30 am.

Now, it’s pretty simple how it works:  just pay $25 (drinks not included), you’ll get a wristband, then hit up any of the restaurants/bakeries/paleterias that we’ve listed below.  The chefs and bakers at each spot will have a special dish prepared just for you to try out.  So, if you’re truly sadistic, you could hit up all 37 spots and make this a true restaurant tour.  Each wristband sale goes to the Tamarack Tower Foundation, who helps support Port Chester Schools.  You can either buy your wristband at the Port Chester Marina on Abendroth Avenue starting at 11:30 or you could send a check made out to Tamarack Tower Foundation to Joan Conklin; 75 Bowman Avenue; Rye Brook, 10573. She’ll send you a wristband in the mail, but if there isn’t enough time to get one back to you, she’ll have a “Save” table at the Marina.  We’ve included a map of the event for easy navigation, but they’ll also have a map for you to pick up at the PC Marina.  And, if you get so tired of walking and get weighed down from eating all the food, you’ll be happy to know that they’ll have 3 busses that will take people all around Port Chester!

Now, look at this RIDICULOUS list of food spots to check out, all for one tiny fee:

looking forward to it, but disappointed that The Kneaded Bread and Q are not participating this year.
