Win Lidia Bastianich’s newest cookbook, pasta, AND sauce from Fairway Stamford

9 Dec

Want to win a jar of Lidia Bastianich’s sauce, a box of pasta, and her brand new cookbook Lidia’s Commonsense Italian Cooking:  150 Delicious and Simple Recipes Anyone Can Master?  Well, of course you do!  Two lucky winners will win all three of those from Fairway Market in Stamford.  All you need to do is tell us (by commenting here) what your favorite simple, easy to handle Italian dish is your go-to for meal time.  The contest starts now and goes until midnight of Thursday, 12/12.  Then, on Friday, 12/13, we’ll announce the winners on here and contact them by e-mail.  Then the two lucky winners just need to head down to Fairway Market Stamford’s customer service center and pick up their sauce, pasta, and cookbook.  You can pick up your winnings any time after Saturday, 12/14, but the ideal time would be on Saturday, 12/14.

Like we mentioned last week, this Saturday from 1-3 is when Lidia will be making an appearance at Fairway Stamford for a book signing and various tastings of her products.  You’ll be able to buy a copy of Lidia’s Commonsense Italian Cooking (written with her daughter Tanya Bastianich Manuali) there at Fairway and have Lidia sign your copy.  Then, when you take her cookbook home, you’ll have an arsenal of 150 amazingly easy Italian recipes at your fingertips.

Thanks to Fairway Market for organizing the signing and product tasting, as well as hosting this contest for our readers, Lidia fans, and Fairwayians.

Ciao paesanos…e buona fortuna!

My go-to dish is Bucatini all’Amatriciana. I pick up some La Quercia Guanciale from Fairway, saute it with garlic in pan, add marinara sauce, and let it simmer. I cook some bucatini, and put it all together. A quick and delicious dinner!

Just made it last night: good quality fusilli with sundried tomatoes, kalamata olives, and garlic that have been sauteed in olive oil, and some Greek feta and black pepper on top. My friend (who I cooked for) was appreciative.

This is fabulous my mom and I will be online Saturday at the store. My mom has her cookbooks but I do not have any yet! My favorite go to Italian dish to make at home is a lemony chicken Picatta! I like it hot right off the stove with a ton of Linguine to top it off and crusty bread to soak up the sauce!

Great Erica. If you’re going to be there anyway, wouldn’t it be awesome to win the prize and get another cookbook? :) As for the lemony chicken piccata…OH YEAH! You speak our language. :) So simple, but soooo good.
