we went Sunday night to one Italian Restaurant off the beaten path (Villa Italia near Clark’s Hill) and were very disappointed. I have been pleased with the ones that are listed.

We’ve only had Villa Italia through delivery and what we had was very good. I think it’s only been pizza and a few pasta dishes. What was disappointing about the food?

i have eaten there before ( i think i had pizza which was good). It was not terrible – for instance a special appitizer was great (peppers roasted and stuffed), but i had a veal dish with a side of pasta and all tho the pasta was cooked okay, the sauce on it tasted like straigh out of a can with no seasoning whatso ever, The val was a substitued for what i wanted and just was not good. A chicken Scarpiella had no heat. The Fettecini alfreado was very good and a seafood special was also good. I can not forgive the sauce tho….

The sauce is key in an Italian spot, you’re right. :-) You want to be able to get that homemade taste… at least the other stuff you had was decent.
