May is the holiest of all months. Yes, carnivores, it is when we pay homage to our best friend: the hamburger. See, May is National Burger Month and there’s no better way to say you’re American than shoveling down a hamburger with fries and a shake. In order to celebrate, we’ve put together a nice city guide of the hamburgers that we have come to love for one reason or another. This is not necessarily a list of the best burgers in Fairfield County, but is more like a burgerpedia of the burgers we’ve had for you to consult should the need to chow down hits you…and we know it will…nightly…every hour…for eternity. After you check out the list, we’re wondering which of these spots you love the most and what is your favorite burger/burger toppings of all time? Also check us out on Twitter and Facebook for beautifully touching hamburger quotes all this month. Om nom nom nom.
Darien
Whole Foods: We got two black pepper crusted with Parmesan patties to go on Sunday that rocked our worlds. Lots of burger varieties for your bbq’n needs.
Fairfield
Circle Diner: Home of an awesome turkey burger. Order it with grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, bacon, and mozzarella.
Stamford
Fairway Market: Another great place to get high quality meat with great flavors for your bbq. Just be careful because some of their patties are so thick, you’ll need to give them some extra time on the grill or cut them in half.
Napa & Co: Now, you might complain that Station Eats, Beach Burger, or Shake Shack burgers are expensive, but this doesn’t compare to the $26 Napa Wagyu Burger. Listen to this description and you’ll see why you must order: red onion jam, aged Gouda, black pepper mayo, and rosemary fries.
Station Eats: They have shakes and burgers of the month, seemingly infinite hamburger and hot dog toppings, and what some people call the best veggie burger that they have ever tasted. Now you can enjoy your burgers out on their patio, too.
New Canaan
Station Eats: Same awesome food as the Stamford spot, but smaller. Still, there’s a real charm to this spot: the epitome of a burger joint.
Norwalk
The Beach Burger: Killer shakes and excellent burgers here by the water. Stroll up to the burger bar, then chat n’ chew with friends. Keep up with their FB and Twitter to see specials and fun events for May.
Burger Bar & Bistro: Good burgers and frickles that you might threaten people’s lives for. Also, bring your dog for their doggy menu.
Chocopologie: Yes, Fritz is world-famous for his chocolate, but don’t overlook the burger here. While you’re there, try the inventive drinks that you will most likely not see anywhere else.
Bonus Add-in
Mohegan Sun: They’ve got over 55 different burgers available and also have some specials for you to check out. Some of these burgers are so good, you’ll definitely be yelling, “Hit me again!” ;) Thanks to Dave at Mohegan for letting us know about this! Here’s a list of the participating restaurants:
- Big Bubba’s BBQ
- Birches Bar & Grill
- Bobby’s Burger Palace
- The Dubliner
- Geno’s Pub
- Jasper White’s Summer Shack
- Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville
- Johnny Rockets & Johnny Rockets Express
- Michael Jordan’s 23.sportcafe
- Todd English’s Tuscany

Good Whitemist, glad you enjoyed. So, what kind of toppings you like on your burger? Are you a purist like Kristien or do you like to take chances like me? :P

Yeah, sounds great. Love it spicy and love sauces. I’m not a fan of chili cheese fries, I’m weird…but I love their chili fries. Just don’t like cheese like that…ugggh, makes me gag. :)

We’ve never been and we’re excited to try it out, Ray. :) We have been to Mesa Grill, though, and really liked the food there. :)

Couldnt agree more that Bobbys Burger Palace rocks!…also its a good way to not spend a ton of money on food at the casino (which we all know is hard to do). More money for gambling and concerts! woot woot

Hey, you’re right. Need to save that money for some hands of blackjack. What’s your game of choice there? Kristien and I are all into the blackjack table.

A little low low low limit blackjack and roulette…The Craps table scares/intimidates/confuses me, so I avoid it haha

Yeah, we’re totally in for the blackjack. You can get some good money on craps, but the rules are overwhelming. :) Kristien knows all of it, though. :) Her dad taught her well. :)
