Colony Grill is holding its second annual Colony Grill Post Road Hot Oil 5K going on Sunday, November 11, 2012. The race starts at 9 AM outside of the Fairfield train station then ends up in front of Colony Grill in Fairfield. No, you’re not going to run to the one in Stamford, but if you don’t believe us check out the course map. Proceeds from the race will be used to help support Fairfield’s finest and bravest.
There are only 1,000 running slots and no race day registration, so you want to make sure that you say you’ll be racing as soon as possible. Do that by registering online or at Colony Grill Fairfield. Registration is $30 or $20 if you are a member of the Fairfield Police or Fire Department. Please note, there’s also a Kids Fun Run that starts at 8:45.
So, why is there a race? Besides raising money to keep the people who protect us safe, there are some major prizes to be won. The man and woman who come in first place will receive a championship trophy and win free pizza for a year. Um, wow. We’ll need to start training right away. Even if you don’t win, there are still major perks. All runners will get a goodie bag and a commemorative t-shirt to show that you ran and survived the Colony Grill Post Road Hot Oil 5K. When you’ve finished the race, head into Colony Grill for a complimentary post-race pizza, beer, and soda. There will also be some live music playing to help you wind down after your run.
If you’ve run a 5K or plan on running this race, let us know. Heck, you can even brag if you’d like. We both entered a 5k a while back and did pretty well for our first time.
