Update: as of 5 pm, 12/5/12, Dinosaur Stamford is open. Check our review!
Would you believe that we told you about Dinosaur Bar-b-que coming to Stamford way back in April, 2011? When it became official, the days seemed to drag on and the opening seemed so far away. Why does that happen, anyway?
So, as we got closer to the opening date, people got more anxious, dripping pools of sweat thinking about ribs, sauce, meaty goodness, and brews. We’re here to tell you that there is salvation, brothers and sisters. Yes, we were told that mid November would be the opening of Dinosaur Bar-b-que Stamford, but then something called Super Storm Sandy came along. That was enough to delay things and push back their final completion. Yet, we hold the key to your salvation: the opening date of Dinosaur Bar-b-que.
12/5/12 (A day later than the original date, but that’s okay. You have more time to fast before you pig out.)
Mark that down on your calendars, people. In fact, maybe even tattoo that onto the palm of your hand so that you won’t forget.
The menu is getting its finishing touches, but once we get our hands on it, we’ll let you know about what it contains. You can probably expect small & shared plates, bar-b-que pit plates, custom ‘que plates, speciality sandwiches, their famous sides, and a few new items that will be unique to Stamford. In the meantime check out:
1) Their site.
2) Our announcement.
3) Our interview with John Stage, owner and pitmaster of Dinosaur.
Have you had a chance to see the inside of the space? I hope they have live music (and not awful cover bands). Looks like some of the other locations have live bands. I cant wait to go there. Also…have you guys spoken with the tworoadsbrewing co folks…not exactly lower fairfield county…but they are going to be huge and they open real soon. http://www.tworoadsbrewing.com/door.php?return=/&e=3600 . Their brewery is gigantic…should be great for the craft beer scene

We haven’t seen the inside yet, but we will be checking it out pretty darn soon. ;) You know, live music will be awesome. We bet they’ll make it awesome. If there’s a cover band, though, we hope for Bon Jovi, MC Hammer, or even Neil Diamond. JK. We haven’t talked with TwoRoads, but they just started following us and we follow them on FB. We’ll definitely need to check them out. :) It’s exciting! Love the name, too. :) Two Roads diverged….love that Frost poem.
