It’s no surprise that Casa Villa in Stamford is one of our favorite Mexican spots in the area. In fact, when people ask us for our favorite place to get tacos or where they can get the most authentic Mexican food, we invariably say they should check out Casa Villa on 866 Main Street, owned by Alvino Villa. He’s a really great guy, helped to raise over $2,500 with us for Hurricane Sandy relief, and wants to bring people all the great food that he experienced while living in Puebla, Mexico.
Well, people of Bridgeport…now is the time for your to rejoice, for your fiesta. Yes, Alvino’s new authentic Mexican restaurant called Hacienda Villa (website soon to be updated) opens tonight, 1/17. You’ll be able to get the same amazing food because, after all, it comes from the tried and true recipes of the Villas. So, make sure that you stop on by Hacienda Villa at 2810 Fairfield Avenue in Bridgeport.
In the mean time, drool over the pictures from our first visit and then our second visit when we took an immense tour through the menu thanks to Alvino. Some of our favorites are the pollo en crema de chipotle, tacos al pastor, spicy ceviche, bistec a la Mexicana, gorditas, and desserts like the flan or tres leches.
We wish Alvino and the family of Casa Villa and Hacienda Villa buena suerte. Please help spread the word and definitely give the food a try. We’ll update you with more information as we get it. Hasta luego, muchachos.

Si, si…the pollo en crema de chipotle is such an interesting dish. You realize you’re eating Mexican, but you also wonder about any possible Indian influences. Such a fun and unique dish.
