Delivery Made Easy with Rewards: Seamless and Delivery.com

29 Mar

One of the most frustrating things about ordering delivery  over the phone (#ConnecticutProblems) is repeating yourself 30 times, or being put on hold, or being transferred to 10 different people.  Yeah, it’s seriously annoying and it’s a big waste of time, especially when there are other important things to do like watch TV, surf the net, watch the kids, or just be lazy.

But, two websites are making delivery (or pick up) just a bit easier and giving you some great things in return.  All around, we use Seamless more often because they have a better variety of restaurants for delivery by us, but Delivery.com is still a good option.  Let’s look at Seamless first.

Seamless has a very easy to use interface where you can save restaurants into your favorites and even just order a previous meal with just a few clicks.  You’ll often see restaurants that have deals like 10% or 20% of orders!  Be aware that some restaurants charge a small fee for delivery, but it’s not a fee from Seamless.  Also, Seamless will send out emails time to time with special discount codes that you can enter before your finalize your purchase.  Our favorite part:  add the tip right in and when your food arrives, the delivery person will hand it to you, thank you, then leave.  That’s more time for your to spend gorging yourself.  Right now they are in the Greenwich, Stamford, and Westport areas, but are expanding.

And there’s also Delivery.com.  They have the same basic features but also seem to have more catering options if you need big orders.  In addition, you’ll see that you can also set up delivery of liquor, wine, and beer through local shops.  After you’ve ordered 10 meals, you’ll get a $5 Delivery.com gift card.  In addition, you earn Delivery Points based on the money that you spent at restaurants.  Use the points to give back to charity, to get more gift cards for Delivery.com, get cash back, or even purchase things like a Wii or a camera.

Here are some of the Fairfield County restaurants that are on Seamless now:

Darien:  Green & Tonic, Coromandel

Greenwich:  Bella Nonna, Espresso NEAT, Joey B’s, My Favorite Place, Re Napoli, Tomatillo

Southport:  Coromandel

Stamford:  Bar Q, Capriccio Cafe, Coalhouse Pizza, The Fez, Fin II, Myrna’s Kitchen, Rizzuto’s, Saigon Cafe, Station Eats, Tabouli Grill, Volta, Whip Eat Well

Westport:  Bobby Q’s, Kaia Cafe, Matsu, Mumbai Times

And here are some of the Fairfield County restaurants that are on Delivery now:

Bridgeport:  Sergio’s Pizza, Crossroads Pizza

Fairfield:  Hunan Pavillion, JK Asian Bistro

Greenwich:  Madison Wine & Liquor, Little Thai Kitchen, Thai Basil

Milford:  The Honey Baked Ham Company

Thanks so much. We have been wanting to do a series of posts on saving money at restaurants for a while. Because we were going to Ireland, we thought those days would be perfect for these posts. Glad you find them useful. Let us know when the wine blog vote goes down, too. Take care.

Kevin, we have heard of it but have not used it yet. They basically pick up your food for you, right? Do you know if there are any rewards built in? We know they deliver Dino and that is all that matters. :)

Yes, they have a credit program after a certain amount spent. They also periodically send out both by regular and email, discount offers usually $3 or $5 and also do discounts at certain times of the year. I’ve looked at Seamless but so far, for me at least, GoWaiter seems to have a larger selection of restaurant choices.
