Do you know what was awesome? Seeing our Facebook friends go crazy over Westport Little League (12U) making it into the Little League World Series. They watched the games and they hit up the bars to watch the games. And, we were amazed to see all the restaurants and businesses that we follow on FB and Twitter cheer on the boys. In fact, at certain points during the series of games that the Westport Little League played, we would be able to just follow our newsfeed to see what the score was or what the last play was. While they ending up losing to Chula Vista and Mexico, they fought hard and they made Nutmeggers and New Englanders proud. Hey, second best in the nation and fourth best in the world ain’t too shabby at all.
And, in honor of the Westport Little League teams (boys and girls softball), managers, and coaches, there will be a parade on Monday, 8/26, starting at 5 pm. It will start on Main Street/Avery place, head down Main Street, then will finish at Jesup Green. There at Jesup Green there will be a ceremony at the Levitt Pavillion (40 Jessup Road). After you’re done cheering, you’ll probably be hungry and thirsty, right? Well, let us help you out with some choice picks nearby:
Bobby Q’s Bodacious Grill & BBQ: not only is Bob LeRose a huge supporter of the team, we love Bobby Q’s in Westport. We’re talking great BBQ with awesome sauces and plenty of seating. If you’re super hungry and feeling like you’re up for a challenge, try the Pitmaster Platter.
LeFarm: like Bob LeRose, LeFarm is a big fan of Westport Little League, constantly offering up praise and cheers through their FB page. When you hit up LeFarm, be prepared for an epic meal from Chef Arik Bensimon who will bring the farm to your table. Hop on those reservations, though…bet they’ll go fast.
Pink Sumo & Sushi: one of the newer restaurants in Westport, Pink Sumo is causing quite a stir with their creative cocktail/sake menu and their fun approach to sushi.
Blue Lemon: one of Westport’s most popular spots. They’re serving up some classic American dishes, as well as some twists on favorites.
Also, before the parade check out ASF of Westport. They’ll have 350 limited edition New England team cards that are up for sale at for just $1 each. Snag those while you can!
Is the Dressing Room open on Mondays?

Good catch, it isn’t! :) Sadly, we had to take it off the list, though it should be visited on the days that it is open. :)
