What? There’s a festival that not only features classic and custom cars, but also celebrates the amazing Italian all-in-one meal of cannolis? Fuggetaboutit! Actually, it’s the 4th Annual Cars and Cannolis and it’s going down this year on 10/26 at McLevy Green in Bridgeport from 9-4 pm. Admission is free, but entry for cars and bikes for the show is just $5. If entering, please arrive by 9 so that you have time to register so that you can show off your car.
The first reason to go is checking out all the classic and custom cars and bikes. You’ll also be given the chance to vote for the People’s Choice winner and there will be other trophies given out by car show judge, George Dragone of Dragone Classic Motorcars.
Secondly, you’ll definitely want to check out the Master of Ceremonies, Bob D’Aprile of CT Rocks on WPKN 89.5. He’ll be introducing The Juke Joint Rhythm Rockers, 9th Wave, and Skinny Jim & the Number 9 Black Tops who will be playing Surf, Rockabilly, and Italian music. Also on hand from WPKN 89.5 will be the Car Bob crew, talking about some of the best cars and bikes that they see.
And, yes, of course we have the cannolis. Check out samples from two of Bridgeport’s best bakeries: Luigi’s Bakery and Del Prete’s. But wait, there’s more! Ripka’s Bridgeport Market will also be on hand providing specially flavor cannolis like pumpkin. But wait, there’s even more! Moe’s Burger Joint of Bridgeport will be mixing up some cannoli shakes. Dear God.
Last, but certainly not least, there will be lots of other things going on. There will be other food besides cannoli (but, really, do you want to eat anything else?), a trick-or-treaters parade at 1, an amazing amount of art from City Lights Gallery, and even bocce ball. Okay, that just about seals the deal. Cannoli, cars…and bocce ball?
