Here Piggy Piggy: Porktoberfest Brings Beer, Music, and Pork to Westport

30 Oct

Pork, we owe you a helluva lot.  You bring us bacon, you bring us hot dogs, sausage, bacon, and of course pulled pork.  And, everybody knows that pork is OmNomCT’s favorite vegetable.  We make sure to get at least a few servings per day to fulfill our daily PBR–Pork Blood Ratio.  And, it looks like we’ll have a chance to pump our blood full of the good stuff at Saugatuck Craft Butchery‘s 1st Annual Porktoberfest!

It’s being held on Sunday, 11/10, from 12-4 pm.  They’ll have two whole Berkshire pig roasts going on that will make awesome pulled pork, brats, kielbasa, and knockwurst.  But, what’s a Porktoberfest without beer?  Don’t worry, they’ll have that too.  They promise at least two kegs, but if Sam Garwin has her way, they’d have an Oktoberfest style, an IPA, and a lighter brew.  They are still finalizing plans with the beer, but you can bet they’ll be picking great brews to go with the food that they put so much care and attention into.  And, guess what else?  The Austrian Boys Band from Norwalk will be on hand, oompahing the hell out of Westport!

Beer flight at Coals in Port Chester, NY Whether you strut in your lederhosen or not, you’ll want to get your tix.  We’re talking $35 for 21+ (bring ID, duh) or $25 for anyone younger than 21 aka You Ain’t Drinking the Beer.  Buy tickets here and when you’re there, make sure to check out their brand new spot!  It’s bigger and better than ever!

Well, we’ll leave you with this question:
