Epic Noms @ 4B Festival w/ Bacon, BBQ, Bourbon, + Beer

10 Dec
It would seem almost too good to be true.  A festival devoted to not only beer and bourbon, but also BBQ and bacon.  Well, we suppose that we’ve all died and gone to heaven because, YES, the 4B Festival is hitting The Nutmeg State and The Elm City!  This festival is the first of its kind here in CT and will take place on 3/22/14 at The Old Trolley Barn.
Bourbon threesome flight at Plan B Burger Bar in Stamford ConnecticutWe’re telling you this now because tickets go live on their site at 10 am this morning and are going for just $50 or $125 for VIP tickets up until December 26.  After that, tickets go for $75 or $150 for VIP entrance.  Oh, so what do you get with your entrance?  You get to sample some awesome bourbon and craft beer, nom away on some piggish BBQ, and munch on seemingly infinite variations of bacon.  There will be music, lots to see, lots to do, lots to win, lots to drink, and lots to eat.  And, if you’re into the VIP experience, here’s what you’ll get:  early event access, a souvenir glass, a lanyard, a t-shirt, a BBQ apron, a coaster, a bottle opener, special reserve tastings, and even your own special seating area.
Serving up ribs at Dinosaur Barbque StamfordDon’t dilly dally on getting your tickets, either.  These tix will most likely sell out pretty damn soon!  And, to persuade you even more, we talked with David Salinas, Head 4B BBQ Junkie, about the festival, thoughts on the 4B’s, and details on some of the breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and BBQ joints that will be on hand.
Where did the idea of 4B come from?
We’ve been looking for the perfect event to throw that would bring people to New Haven.  New Haven is an awesome city and deserving of such a festival.  We feel that these four categories complement each other really well and people will have a blast!
Why do you feel that beer, bacon, bourbon, and bbq go so well together?

It was just obvious to us.  Who doesn’t love a good beer at a BBQ?  Bourbons can be a bit smokey and sweet at the same time.  Bacon is just awesome and lately you are seeing this emerging trend to explore bacon in interesting ways:  bacon vodka, bacon brownies, bacon caramel, bacon bourbon and even bacon beer. (hint, hint)

If you were stranded on an island, which of the four would you pick?
If I was allowed only one I would go for the BBQ.  I would get tired of fish pretty quickly and I am assuming by choosing BBQ I get beef, pork and chicken!  If you gave me two I would need my beloved bourbon as well.
What are you really looking forward to about the festival?

BACON wrapped anything is on the menu at the 4b Festival! :)

We’ve got some amazing vendors locked down.  I just got wind we will have some bacon and possibly some bourbon infused ice cream!

Are there any set breweries and distilleries that are already set in stone for the festival?
We’ve got a bunch and more to come.  Here is a taste of the brewers: City Steam, Charter Oak, Two Roads, Olde Burnside, Thimble Island, WEED and more!
And the bourbons:  Four Roses, Woodford Reserve, High West, Corner Creek, Hirsch, Stetson, Knob Creek, Knob Creek Rye, Basil Hayden, Maker’s 46, Jim Beam Honey, Jim Beam Devil’s Cut, Jim Beam Maple and more!
What are some of the restaurants that will be providing the bacon and bbq?
BBQ: Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Black Rock BBQ, Ricky D’s Rib Shack, Bear’s Smoke House, Joey C’s, B.T’s Smokehouse and more!
Special Appearances from: Bakon Vodka (Yup! bacon vodka!), Onyx Moonshine, Oak Haven Table and Bar, Briq Restuarant, I Scream for Marz and many more to be announced
