It can be argued that three of the finest things in life are music, food, and drink. Well, who are we kidding? Those definitely are the finest things…
And it’s with this awesomeness that we present to you the 9th Annual BlackRock Rocks fundraiser event! Check out Acoustic Café, Fire Engine Pizza Company, Tautog Tavern, or B.R.Y.A.C., order some drinks (or focus on the drink specials!), watch some shows, and devour some NOLA inspired dishes at each location.
It all begins at 1 pm on Saturday, 3/1 and goes until 2 am on Sunday. You’ll also want to try and win some major swag by participating in the raffle. Oh, and you’ll want to document the craziness of the night with the French Quarter Photo Booth! Plus, there are five other reasons to come on down: the guest MCs. We’re talking about Pam Roxbury from The Chaz & AJ Show, DaveyLove of the Modern Problems Radio Show, Lisa Sanchez-Gonzalez (LSG) who shoots and writes for LocalBandReview.com (she rocks, btw), and both Cristyn Martino and John Piolio of the band Separate Incidents.
If you’re lucky enough to survive the night, get in a “Hair of the Dog” brunch at Brennan’s Shebeen from 12-4 pm on 3/2. As long as you still have your wristband on, you’ll pay just $15 for a prix fixe brunch and will also get one drink.
BlackRock Rocks is raising money this year (like last year) for K.E.Y.S., Kids Empowered by Your Support. This awesome group helps to bring instrumental lessons and instruction to the under-served children of Bridgeport. Sponsors for this year’s fundraiser include Narragansett Brewing, CT’s own Onyx Moonshine, Bananaland, B:Hive Bridgeport, The Sound, School of Rock Fairfield, CodaKhrome, and FTS Gallery.
To see the most up to date band schedule and info, make sure to check out the BlackRock Rocks site. For now, here’s what we got:
