Ticket Giveaway: Hops + Grapes, Toasts + Tastes 2014

8 Apr

One of the major highlights of the year for us is the annual Hops & Grapes, Toasts & Tastes event to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Connecticut.  This will be our third year going to the event and our second year as one of the sponsors, so we can’t wait to check things out on 4/25/14 from 7:30-10:30 at Chelsea Piers in Stamford.  VIP tickets are $100 or $175 for a pair, or you can get General Admission for $75 or a pair for $125 and that includes food, wine, beer, cocktails, and your chance to win some killer auctions.  In addition, VIP tix will get you a special gift bag, a raffle ticket, and a LLS writstband, while the GA tickets get you a gift bag filled with goodies.

If you haven’t bought your tickets yet, we don’t know what’s wrong with you…seriously, what are you waiting for?  A personal invitation?  Okay, this is an invitation from both of us.  But, maybe you want a chance to win a pair of tickets?  Sure, why not!  All you need to do is tell us what restaurant, food truck, bakery,  and/or beverage you are most looking forward to sampling.  Comment down below or on our post regarding this contest on our Facebook page.  The contest begins now and goes until 2 pm on Friday, 4/11/14.

Here are all the vendors:

I’m OVERLY excited to see Dash & Drizzle on that list!! I just stopped into their (soon to be old) Location in Fairfield the other day and instantly wanted to try every single thing in the place. All that was missing from my life that day was fresh cracked pepper, a nice sized plate and one VERY large loaf of freshly-baked Italian bread!

Great lineup! Of the ones on the list I have yet to try, Bar Sugo is probably tops. The chocoholic in me will probably need/want to try Chocolations for desert though…

I haven’t had Vanchetta yet and I’d love to try it! I made it my mission to hunt down food trucks in NYC and London.
Looking forward to some warmer weather so I can give the Stamford ones a try.
My in laws are in from the UK so we’d have a free babysitter too. Fingers crossed!

For my last food truck visit of 2013 I had a Vanchetta. It was a sunny late fall afternoon and I wanted a heavy duty sandwich. I really have been thrilled to learn all about food trucks this year. In just a few years food trucks have become a food movement in and of themselves. They offer everything from coffee and donuts, to heavy duty french fries, to you name it! Every time I spot one now I run over to see what amazing delicacy the chef has mastered and is serving up. In the case of Vanchetta it is sandwiches. Hearty, meat-based sandwiches to be exact. So Vanchetta food truck is my choice.

Isn’t it great, Marla? We love how they are popping up more and more! There are still a bunch that we want to try. So nice! :) And, we have to say, we were so happy to learn that Andy and co. would be by showing off how awesome Vanchetta is! :)

I’d like to try Farmboys BBQ. After living in KC I find it difficult to get good BBQ in CT.

I’ve tried Vanchetta! It was good, but I’m craving a smoky, low and slow-cooked piece of piggy. :P
