Take all that you know and think about 5k races and toss ’em away because Half Full Brewery in Stamford has a brand new experience for you. That experience? The Hop, Skip & A Run 5k Race and Festival that’s coming to Stamford on June 29. The race starts at 17 Harbor Point Road where Paloma will be, goes along the boardwalk, then into Kosciuszko Park. Jordan Giles, Chief Beer Organizer, shared more about the race with us: “Hop Skip & A Run is a truly unique 5K in that participants will literally hop and skip a (small) portion of the route while running the rest. As with nearly everything we do here at the Half Full Brewery, we thought long and hard about how to put our upbeat and positive Half Full spin on the event.”
That positive spin? 50% of event sales and 100% of beer sales on June 29 will go directly to the CT Chapter of Achilles International. Jordan continued, “Achilles’ mission is to ‘enable people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream athletics in order to promote personal achievement, enhance self esteem, and lower barriers to living a fulfilling life’, which speaks directly to what we stand for here and we are beyond proud to host this event in support of their organization!”
Participants need to arrive by 11:45 to get ready for the race that starts at 12. Then, starting at 12:15 (and going until 5), the next part of the day starts: the beer and food truck festival. The after-party takes place at The Waterfront @ Harbor Point, just a bit away from the start/finish line. There will be plenty of Half Full brews available (make sure to bring cash for extra beer tickets), food from our buddies at Lobstercraft, Melt Mobile, and Vanchetta, and there will be plenty of lawn games like cornhole and Half Full’s famous Life-sized Jenga.
We hope that you can make this event, as we’ll be in it too. Here’s all the info that you need if you’re 21+ and racing, under 21 and racing, or just want to eat and drink at the festival:

Do I have to bring my ticket to the event?

Yes, you may transfer your tickets to another individual, however, the ticket must reflect the new attendees name and they will need to be the same ticket type. Once you purchase a ticket, you cannot change the type of ticket, just to whom it goes.
