If you’ve been following our blog, it’s no secret that we are huge supporters of Eat for Equity Stamford. And, what’s not to love about a group of volunteers who put together meals with all money raised going to local charities? And, just as exciting, what’s not to love about local businesses like Saugatuck Craft Butchery and Shop Rite Super Grade A who come together to provide high quality food that is also local? It’s a marriage of everything awesome…plus, after each dinner, you always leave feeling good, feeling like you’ve helped to make a change in the community, and you probably have made a few new great friends in the process, too.
Well, Eat for Equity Stamford is back for some more with their 10th community benefit meal that will benefit Eat for Equity on both the national level and also the local level. The fun starts at 7 pm on Saturday, August 16 and goes on until 10 pm at 72 Little Hill Drive in Stamford. There is no cost to dine (register here), but a $15-$20 donation wouldn’t be too shabby. As for the menu, we’re talking about the bounty of summer goodies, all in one meal:
• Summertime Shish Kabobs with Onion, Summer Squash, Mushrooms, and Sage butter
• Green Salad with Cucumber, Feta, Olives, Tomato, and Balsamic Vinegar
• Grilled Corn on the Cob with Sriracha and Mayo
• Garden Lasagna with Zucchini and Eggplant
• Peach Cobbler with Vanilla Ice Cream
