Gobble This: Meals + Catering Options for Thanksgiving (and Eve) 2014 in Fairfield County

17 Nov

Last year we shared a breakdown of the best spots to get some pizza and get crunk’d on Thanksgiving Eve, one of the busiest and lushest drinking days on the calendar. So, check out that post, and definitely check out this post where we go through some more Thanksgiving Eve options, some spots where you can have a Thanksgiving meal, and even places that are offering up Thanksgiving catering. Whatever you do, make sure you eat lots of cranberry sauce. It’s not Thanksgiving without that stuff: amen.

If you know of any other events or special meals, feel free to comment here or e-mail us at omnomct@gmail.com for inclusion in this article. We’ll update continuously.

Thanksgiving Eve

It’s a little known fact, but the day before Thanksgiving is when the pilgrims first prepared BBQ. Now, it might have been smoked pheasant and squirrel, but it was still so good. Okay, we made that up, but come by Walrus & Carpenter in Black Rock to check out The Last Waltz play live. Tip: drinks are killer here, so no need to go out drinking anywhere else after dinner.

Although we had a mixed experience when we first went to Oak + Almond in Norwalk, we’ve been hearing that things have gotten better and the food has improved. And, they are hosting a great night full of live music from 7-11 along with drink specials like their signature cocktail at $7,their Autumn Punch for $6, house wines for $5, drafts for $3, and 1/2 off bottles of wine below $100.

Thanksgiving Dinner (and Breakfast)

Start the day off with an American breakfast at Chip’s Family Restaurant in Fairfield and give back to Operation Hope. For just $12, you’ll get a short stack of buttermilk pancakes, 2 eggs your way, coffee or tea, and your choice of bacon or sausage. Carb-load forward to get through to dinner and help a local charity!

Rive Bistro in Westport will have special seatings at their restaurant from 12-7. To get your reservation, just call them up at (203) 557-8049. The special menu is a la carte and features some French classics along with some traditional Thanksgiving fare including a Thanksgiving plate.

The JHouse in Greenwich is helping you to ease into that turkey-laced coma with a deal that just might want to gobble up. $159 gets you a deluxe room upgrade for a night which helps when you take down their 3 course Thanksgiving meal which is $65 per person and goes from 12:30-7:30. Get your tix here and call them up at (203) 698-6999 for reservations.

Check out the newly reopened Redding Roadhouse for Turkey Day! Reservations are required, so call them up at (203) 938-3388 to hold your spot. You get 4 courses (including dessert) just $38.95 if you’re an adult or $19.95 for children. Check out the menu here.

Boulevard 18 in New Canaan is offering up a cozy and comforting elevated 3 course menu for $65 per person ($45 more and they’ll pair each course with wine for you). There’s also a kid’s menu for $30, if the finer things in life escape your spawn. Menu and reservations here.

Thanksgiving Catering Options
