Free Bottle Share Event @ Coalhouse Pizza Stamford

5 Dec

Yesterday we told you about the New England Brewing Company Tap Takeover at Coalhouse Pizza that will feature Zapata Bot, Fuzzy Baby Ducks, Imperial Stout Trooper, and more. Well, y’all are still freaking out, but here’s more to freak out about:

Gerard has organized a bottle share event at Coalhouse for 12/8, starting at 5 pm! What does that mean exactly?

Just bring a bottle or can of something fun, rare, or unusual and put out samples with some dixie cups. Then, go around, talk with some like-minded beer people, and try lots of great beer. Gerard, the owner of Coalhouse, will be there and will put out samples of some of his own bottles, too. Plus, he’ll have a nice and big cheese platter for people to nom on while they sample all the goodies.

Gerard told us that this is something he wants to continue into next year, once a season. In fact, he is even trying to work in a fundraising element to some of the future Bottle Share events.

Some other things going on at Coalhouse:

12/9 Long Trail Tap Takeover

Bourbon & Whiskeys class starting at 6:30

12/16 Grey Sail Brewing Tap Takeover

Ho! Ho! Ho! Holiday Ales Beer Academy at 6:30. The class is free,

flights of the holiday beer are $9.75 plus tax.

12/31-1/1 Dogfish Head 30 Tap Takeover w/ brunch from 10-3

Dixie cups, are we in college again ? We use glassware, so does Gerard have enough glassware for us or does he wish us to bring our own ?

That being noted, this sounds like a fun time & I am overdue to visit Coalhouse. Cheers !

Not sure about the glassware. If you pour out 10-20 samples per bottle, and have at least 30 people, that’s 300 to 600 glasses!
We’ll try to get more specifics. This isvthe first time he’s done this, so there’s definitely a learning curve.

Thanks for writing Mike, we’ll definitely see ya soon!

can’t wait maybe it’s better to bring your own cups? I have never done this before sounds like fun. I’m from stamford but never have been to coalhouse. so to bring in something to share were referring to a type of beer since it’s a swap or any type of liquor just want to make sure. thanks

Hey Marla! Yeah, we think you can bring your own small cups. We definitely need to check with Gerard. As for sharing, just beer, but if you have some Pappy van Winkle please share!
