We’re back with our weekly food and beer events and news listings, so get ready. It’s bigger and better than ever, and we’ve added a nice new feature for ya, too. If you visit our Events page, you can see a calendar that lists all of these events, things that we’ve already posted about and won’t bog you down with, lists and details of our favorite brunch spots, happy hours and meal deals, as well as Connecticut brewery hours. We’ve also included the calendar at the bottom of this post if you’d like to check it out and hit the +GoogleCalendar button on the bottom to subscribe for instant updates. This will be updated more and more as we go by week after week.
2/27 Melt Mobile will be outside of Greenwich Library, so take out some books and fill up that stomach.
2/28 Check out the 10th Annual Black Rock Rocks with plenty of live music and great food. Venues include The Acoustic Cafe, BRYAC, Fire Engine Pizza Co, and Tautog Tavern. More info here.

3/7 CT NOFA is hosting a series of seminars, workshops, farm-to-table lunches, and more at Western CT State University in Danbury. Lunch is $15 for adults and $8 for kids 12 and under. More info here.
3/14 Register now for the Shamrock Stroll, a 5K Fun Run/Walk. It’s free to participate and afterwards there will be a block party with green beer, food and live music.

Apricot Bar & Grill has opened up at 7 Wall Street in Norwalk. They are featuring Modern American fare.
Valencia Luncheria in Norwalk has revealed an arepa that’s perfect for St. Patty’s Day: it’s made with borne beef, carrots, cabbage and mustard.
Congratulations to Chef Jared Falco who has joined the kitchen at Amore in Stamford with Bruno Fabio. Jared was the head chef at Washington Prime in SoNo.
Happy Hours and Deals

Brick + Wood in Fairfield is hosting happy hour Tuesday-Saturday from 4-6 in the bar room. Deals include $5 street food, $6 craft beers, $7 wines, and $8 house cocktails.

2/26: Fairfield Local celebrates their Thursday Pint Night with Harpoon and their IPA, Long Thaw White IPA, Craft Cider, UFO White IPA, Levithan IPA, and a very limited release of their Leviathan 100 Barrel Series Catamount Maple Wheat. $1 off any of their brews, keep the pint glass, and enter to win 2 pair of tics to Harpoon’s St. Patrick’s Day Festival in Boston. Wicked good.
2/26: Brooklyn Brewery Meet & Greet at Plan B Milford from 6-10. Local rep. John Williams will be on hand along with a possible special guest. They’ll be pouring 2012 Monster Ale, the 2013 Black Chocolate Stout, Blast, Wild Horse Porter, and 1/2 Ale Saison.
2/28: Put on your Yeti suit and conquer the Sierra Nevada 2015 Bigfoot Pub Crawl in New Haven. It starts at Stone Hearth from 11:30-1:30, then goes to Prime 16 from 2-3:30, then Ordinary from 3:30-5, then BruRm @ BAR, The Cask Republic, Stella Blues from 8-9, Pacific Standard Tavern from 9-10, then finishes up from 10-midnight. Lots of great, rare, Sierra Nevada brews along the way.
3/3: Wild Beer Night at Coalhouse starting at 5 with lots of sours and wild brews.
3/4 Victory Brewing is taking over the taps of Cask Republic Stamford starting at 6. One special brew is an exclusive release of Deep Cocoa, a porter with rum soaked cocoa nibs. There’s only one other barrel in the whole state, so you’ll wanna try this bad boy.
3/5: Monk Night at Coalhouse starting at 5 with beer made by, you guessed it, monks.
3/10: OG Craft Beer Night at Coalhouse starting at 5 with some unique brews from the original gangstas of craft brew like Sierra Nevada, Victory, and Stone.
3/12: Beer’d Brewing Tap Takeover at Coalhouse starting at 5 with Keltic Kick jamming out at 8.
9/26: The Harbor Brew Fest is back in Bridgeport for another awesome year.
Top Shelf Brewery is releasing their limited-edition Irish Ale on Friday. Get a bottle or get it at the brewery.
Neversink Spirits in Port Chester has started a batch of bourbon and after it’s been aged in barrels, they’ll be shipped over to Kent Falls Brewery to make barrel aged beers.
Steady Habit Brewing, recently opened, is tweaking their hours. They’ll be open M-Thursday from 10-4 (call ahead) as well as Fridays from 12-6 and Saturdays from 10-4.
Two Roads Brewery just added a 300 barrel fermenter and a 300 barrel bright tank to their huge arsenal of equipment.
Black Hog Brewery will be open Wednesdays from 4-6 for squealer and growler fills. Get yo’ hog on!
