Do you know what the great thing about chili is? It’s perfect any ‘ol time of year! By itself, on top of a burger, on top of a hot dog, on a breakfast sandwich: it’s a meal and it’s a condiment at the same exact time. And, what better way to show some respect and reverence to chili then hold a contest called The Charity Chili Challenge? Now approaching its second year in existence, this contest sponsored by the Exchange Clubs of North Stamford, Stamford, and Norwalk pits amateurs and professional cooks against each other.
All the action goes down on Sunday, April 26 from 1-4 at Trinity Catholic High School at 926 Newfield Avenue in Stamford. Tickets (get them at the door or by calling Amy Wilmot at 667-1202) are a suggested donation of $10 with kids being free. When you arrive, you’ll be able to taste all the chili being offered and vote on your favorite.
No doubt you’ll want to wash down all that great food with some brews, right? Well, bring your ID and get some brewskis for just $4 cash or you could just get water for $1. In addition, there will be a 50/50 drawing if you’re feeling lucky. All proceeds from this event go to The Exchange Club Parenting Skills Center which helps to prevent child abuse and strengthens families throughout Fairfield County.
one of these days, i will get a heads up – i will be away for this time…sigh
