One of the things that we love about craft breweries here in CT and across the country is their appreciation for each other and how they often collaborate with each other. A perfect example of this is the Thread City Hop Fest, organized by Willimantic Brewing Company. Over the past few years, this beer fest has grown into a complete beer-beast of its own, drawing people from all over CT and the surrounding states who are ready to try some of the best beers in the Northeast and nom away on some killer food.
This year the Thread City Hop Fest is pouring out onto Jillson Square in Willimantic from 2-6 on May 3. Tickets are $35 if you buy them in advance or $40 at the gate. That gets you entry, unlimited pours of the 49 Northeast breweries (and counting) on hand, live music, and access to food trucks and other vendors. $35 isn’t bad for a beer fest at all, but let’s say you wanted to win two free tickets to Thread City Hop Fest. Wouldn’t you love that? Sure ya would! Here’s how you can win a pair of tix:
Tell us which warm weather beer from one of the breweries listed below is your favorite. Give us your answer by replying here, on our related Facebook post, or on Twitter using #ThreadCityHopTix. The contest starts now and goes until 4/21 at 5 pm. At that time, we’ll pick one randomly lucky winner to snag a pair of tix! Just make sure that you follow directions for the contest, or we won’t count your entry: Bud Light as your choice just won’t cut it. But, if you told us that you love Flower Power from Ithaca or Road Jam from Two Roads, then we’re onto something.
Now, back to the Hop Fest:
🎵 Music is organized by Vulturetown Arts and will include Balkun Brothers, Hartford Hot Several, Bruce John Music, Chris Freeman from Parsonsfield, and Jonah Tolchein.

I love Clown Shoes chocolate sombero- a dark beer with a punch at 10% alcohol.
Mackenzie’s has a seasonal reserve that is perfect for the fall.
And mayflower has an elderflower (or elderberry; I know it was elder something) that is just amazing for summer- light and refreshing but flavorful.

Samantha, you’ve got great taste. We loved that Chocolate Sombrero, too! :) Interested to try that Mayflower beer. We think we had one like that from Blue Point a couple of years back.

The Two Roads White IPA is a great beer. I’m not usually the biggest fan of IPA’s, but this one is an exception to the rule

Galaxy from New England Brewing, It is easy to quaff at under 5% ABV & still delivers an incredible flavor profile. A lot of tropical fruit hits you and it finishes with very light bitterness. Might be pouring for growlers soon……shhhh !

Having to choose one is really difficult! Captain’s Daughter from Grey Sail is absolutely a favorite!

I am a huge fan of the Flower Power. Unfortunately my local establishment doesn’t keep it on tap for any length of time. If by chance I win these tix you can find me in the Ithaca line getting my fill.

Flower Power is great, right? It’s on tap every once in a while at Coalhouse in Stamford, but you might not be by there. :s
