Beer fest season is here, emhergard! And let’s kick it off along with American Craft Beer Week with a giveaway of two tix. Up for grabs is two tickets that will get you into the 2nd Annual Ninety 9 Bottles Craft Beer Festival at Oyster Shell Park in Norwalk. N9BCBF goes down on June 6 from 2-5 and you’ll definitely want to get your tix ($40) because last year’s event sold out. Buy online or purchase at either Ninety 9 Bottles in Norwalk or Westport, knowing that a portion of ticket sales goes to The Team Jesse Foundation that educates and supports families of fallen soldiers.
But, if money’s tight this time of year, you just might want to swing those free tix. To enter, check out our matching Facebook post, tag the person that you want to take along and give the reason why you want them there with you. The contest starts now and goes until Sunday at 7 pm.
. . . And, while last year’s bash was definitely a fun time and had a good representation of craft brews, this year Ninety9 Bottles is kicking things up a bit:
There will be over 50 different choices of beer from breweries like Two Roads, NEBCo, Bronx Brewery, Crabbie’s, Downeast Cider, Captain Lawrence, Back East, Sixpoint, Troegs, Breckenridge, Allagash, BBC, Maine Beer Company, Half Full, Brooklyn Brewery, Cisco, Green Flash, Overshores, Revival Brewing, Lagunitas, Top Shelf, Stone, Ipswich, Olde Burnside, and more that they are adding.
Like last year, you can also expect some great food trucks, but there are even more this year! Look at this lineup: Lobstercraft, Bounty, Melt Mobile, One Bro Pizza, and The Local Meatball. With a lineup of beer and food like this, you’ll need to sample some brews, get something to eat, sample, get something to eat, and repeat this every half an hour or so.
Entry gets you unlimited beer samples with your very own tasting glass, live music, and access to those great food options. New this year is a cool feature: you can track all your brews and tastings with a new app called Sampoll.
We went last year and had a great time with friends, talking with brewery reps, eating lobster rolls, meatball subs, and grilled cheese sandwiches. Plus, we loved how they had plenty of ice cold water available to keep people hydrated.
Hope to see you there,
Dan and Kristien
