5/29 Celebrate the indie spirit and don’t miss the Indie Gala: charity Shindig that starts at 7! There will be cocktails, noms, and music for just $39 online or $50 at the door.
5/30-31 Don’t forget about the New Haven Food Truck Festival that will feature Hooker beer gardens (the brewery, you sick people)! Deets here.
5/31 Check out the new Two Roads Beer Garden at Harbor Yard and see an old friend: Chef Ref, the official mascot of Chowdafest. He’ll be there to celebrate BB’s birthday. Watch that rascal of a mascot, though. He shot Dan in the crotch with a water gun once while he was distracted!
5/31 There will be lots to do (and eat) at the Sustainable Food & Farm Expo at Audubon Greenwich from 10-3. Entry is $15, $20 per couple, or $25 for the family. While you’re there, you can have a great lunch catered by Fleisher’s Craft Butchery and GrassRxoots, check out talks, and view demos. There will also be tastings that cost $10 per session that cover topics such as eggs, meats, honey, EVOO, teas, and cheese. Some of the tastings include demos from Marina of Red Bee Honey and Chef Silvia Baldini of Strawberry & Sage who recently won Chopped.
6/3 O’Neill’s SoNo is hosting a five-course Two Roads Beer Dinner at 7 pm for $50. Featured beers include Honeyspot, Ol’ Factory, Road 2 Ruin, Lil Heaven, and No Limits. Ask the bartender on duty for tix.
6/4 Meet the authors of The Connecticut Farm Table Cookbook at Back 40 Mercantile in Old Greenwich! They will both be there from 3-6 so you can meet and greet them as well as get a copy of your book signed. There will also be refreshments served, so come by thirsty.
6/5 Celebrate National Doughnut Day by trying something new (seriously, skip DD) like the killer donuts at Lakeside Diner in Stamford.
One of the newest food trucks here in Fairfield County is HAPA and they’ll be in Stamford the next few days. On 5/28, they’ll be on Bell Street from 12-3, on 5/29 they’ll be in the same spot and will be at the Beer Garden from 3:30-9, and will be back on May 30 at the Beer Garden from 3-9. There’s a deal right now for a $10 Taco Plate that includes 2 corn tortillas tacos of your choice with a side of seasoned rice.
Caffe Bon is opened for the season at the Byram Beach concession stand. They’ve got burgers, fries, panini, an espresso bar, and more!

5/28 Saddle up to the bar at Widow Browns Cafe in Danbury at 7 for a Founders tap takeover!
5/31 Sweat off some of those malts with Bikes & Beers, brought to you by CT Beer Trail and Pedal Power. You’ll start at Olde Burnside then cycle on down to City steam for more brews and some noms.
5/31 CT Cask Fest hits Craft 260 in Fairfield. You got your tix, right?
6/4 If you’re willing to travel a bit for some good beer, check out DeCicco’s in Armonk from 5-9 for their 2 year anniversary. They’ll have vintage barrel-aged stouts, funky beers, lots of IPAs, and rare brews for sale and drinking. Also, don’t forget that they have crowlers!
6/10 What the Funk? Well, Cask Republic in Stamford has the answer and you’ll find out starting at 5 as they pour out some seriously funky beers! Just a few of them are Madamin, Evolver, Morpheus Wild Undressed, Wild Beer M.V., My Blueberry Nightmare, and 1809 Berliner Weisse.
Not Your Father’s Root Beer is slated to hit store shelves this week. You ready, punks?
Well, New England Brewing has run into a few snags with their repairs and will probably be closed for two or more weeks. But, think about all the beer that will be ready when they reopen!
Half Full is collaborating with Ken Tuccio of Welcome to Connecticut Podcast on Home Office, a limited barrel aged beer. The beer will be aged in a white oak wine barrel from Paradise Hills Vineyard, but the rest is top secret. To get your first tastes of Home Office, you’ll have to stop by Half Full starting at 2 on 7/18. If you register now and are one of the first 150 people, you’ll get free samples. There will also be a live taping of W2CT with Conor.
We’ve heard some great things about Crimsang, the first in Stony Creek‘s Flip the Bird Series. It’s a 10% DIPA Belgian Sour that’s made with blood orange juice. Available only at the brewery.
Outer Light Brewing of Groton is open and the hours are Wednesday 5-8, Thursday and Friday from 5-9, and Saturday from 12-9.
Half Full in Stamford has not only released their popular and refreshing Peach Wheat Ale, they have also released variety packs of their brews. For availability, check their site.
Kent Falls Brewing is keeping things seasonal (as always) with a new beer that’s being made with locally grown grapefruit. Who’s had their beer? Show of hands!
