Festivals, Events, Specials + Food News

6/18 Ryan Parrino and Ian Briggs will be playing live from 4-7 at Washington Prime in SoNo. Happy hour that day goes from 4-6 with 50% off all small plates, their raw bar, wine, beer, and speciality cocktails. Get your reservations by calling them at (203) 857-1314.

6/19-21 Fairfield University is hosting the annual Fairfield County Irish Festival again this year, so make sure to stop by! There will be plenty of Irish music, dancing, drinking in the craft beer tent, and eating. 

6/19-21 The Branford Festival goes down all weekend in, um, Branford! There will be food, there will be cold treats, there will be a car show, music, a baking contest, and so much more. 

Fresh Oysters at Rowayton Seafood Fish Market in Rowayton CT6/20 The Downtown Milford Farmers’ Market opens at 9 and stays open until 1. Check them out every Saturday all the way up until October 3. The only exception is their Oyster Festival on August 14.

6/20 Take a walking culinary tour (you’ll need to burn off a few calories) of downtown New Haven with Stephen Fries. Tickets are $59 and require a reservation. Meet at the Omni @ Yale at 10:45. Other dates include 8/1, 9/12, 10/24, and 12/5 ($69 for the holiday tour). 

6/25 Get some hahas and hops at Coalhouse Pizza in Stamford during their Comedy Night that starts at 8. 

6/26 Kick off summer with the Barnum Skyblast N’ (Clam)bake! Meet at Seaside Park in Bridgeport at 5:30 for dinner which includes a steamed Steamed 1-1/4 pound Lobster OR New York Angus Steak , BBQ Chicken Breast, Clams Steamed with Celery, Onion and Garlic, Corn on the Cob, Mixed Salad with Homemade Dressing, Baked Potatoes or Red Smashed Potatoes, Baked Beans, Fresh Rolls and Butter, Sliced Watermelon, and Italian Cookies. Tickets are $50 or $20 for kids that includes chicken, hot dogs, side dishes, and dessert. You’ll also have live music from the Steve D’Agostino Band and the Greater Bridgeport Symphony Pops Concert. And, the night will wrap up with Skyblast Fireworks at 9:15! 

6/26 It’s the opening of the Danbury Farmers’ Market! Come by from 11-5 and stock up on fresh veggies, fruits, and products from nearby farms. After this date, they’ll be open every Friday up until the end of October.

11206061_673083002823134_4194634603081642449_nHapa Food Truck is at 88 Hamilton Avenue (AmeriCares) from 12-3 today, at 700 Fairfield Avenue (Daymon Worldwide) from 11:30-2 and The Beer Garden @ Shippan Landing from 4-8:45 tomorrow, and will be at the Food Truck Rodeo in Stamford from 11:30-7 on Saturday. 

Tautog Tavern in Black Rock has some killer specials on Mondays and Tuesdays like Irish Nachos, Mussels, Foot Long Hot dogs, and Fish & Chips. And, if you order their Pat LaFrieda burger Monday-Wednesday, you’ll get the draft of your choice for just $1. SICK!

Joseph “The Jedi” Caputo won his second Wienerpalooza in a row at Bridge Street Wienry in Stamford!

Our favorite BBQ joint in CT, Hoodoo Brown BBQ in Ridgefield, just debuted The Doc Holiday Sandwich: smoked meatballs with their Signature BBQ and Cheese Sauce!

The much celebrated Pies & Pints will soon be opening up in Oxford, CT. So, stop by OEC and/or Black Hog, then grab some grub at Pies & Pints. 


Two Roads has released Pilot Batch #3 which is described as, “high ABV wheat brewed with grapefruit, coriander, and orange.” This baby clocks in at 8.2% and we’re all over that . . . and so should you. But don’t wait too long, because it’s bound to kick soon.

two roads logoFuzzy Baby Ducks is popping up everywhere (see below), so make sure to check the FB page and Twitter feed of your favorite spots to see if/when they’ll have it!

Speaking of New England Brewing, they’ll reopen with a new tasting room and a bigger capacity on Wednesday, 6/24.

This one has M. Night Shyamalan written all over it: The Tappenning at Local SoNo:

6/18 Uinta Brewing Pint Night and the 7 pm release of Lawson’s Finest Liquid’s Sip of Sunshine, Ballast Point’s Grapefruit Sculpin, Maine Beer Company’s Mean Old Tom 

6/19 Starting at 7 again, they’ll be tapping into Stone Enjoy by 7/4/15, Stubborn Beauty’s Sour Tiddy’s, and Heavy Seas’ Black Beard’s Breakfast 

6/20 The action starts at 4 today with the tapping of Fuzzy Baby Ducks from NEBCo, Dogfish Head’s American Beauty, and Ballast Point’s Indra Kunindra. 

6/27 From 5-9 at Black Pond Brews in Danielson, you can help celebrate 1 year of brewing in style. They’ll have their regular brews and a cask aged double rye IPA (Unexplained Horse) and collabo bombers that they did with Bentley Brewing in Southbridge.
