Most people relax when they go on vacation, but that’s not true of everyone. Quite often, we see chefs take holy pilgrimages to countries that inspire them and guide their cooking. Some might travel to Italy to learn the art of pasta making, some might visit France to learn how to make the most perfect pastries, and some might travel to the Far East to delve deeper into the world of ramen.
One such chef who needed his ramen fix is Chef Mogan Anthony of Locali Pizza Bar + Kitchen in New Canaan and Village Social Bar + Kitchen in Mt. Kisco. He spent an extended 33 days in the pits of ramen shops throughout Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia, learning even more (he’s already a Ramenaissance Man). And, he’s taking all he knows and is putting it together for a 2 day pop-up dinner featuring local farm fare.
Oh yes, The Mura Ramen + Gastropub Pop Up is happening at Conte’s Fish Market at 448 Main Steet in Mt. Kisco and goes down on June 29 and 30. Available times are 5:45, 6:45, 7:45, and 8:30, so get your spot by writing Mura Ramen. Tickets are $33 (cash only) and that gets you three courses of a chicken bun, appetizers, and (of course) ramen.
