Whole Foods Market in Fairfield is hosting a great event for everyone who just can’t get enough seafood in their lives. And, if you’re like us, you’re mollusk-mad no doubt. The event we speak of is an outdoor festival that they’ll be setting up over the weekend called Farmstand Fishery. There will be local fishmongers selling their freshly caught fish, shucking oysters, and showing off their filleting techniques. All you need to do is just stop by Whole Foods on Saturday, July 25.
Just look at all you can get (with considerable price savings):
- Harpoon Caught Swordfish: $12.99/lb (Org. Price: $19.99) – Canada, MSC-Certified
- 50 Pack Clams: $14.99/lb (Org. Price: $22.99) – Barnegat Light, NJ
- Oyster Shucking: $1 each
- Lobster Rolls: $10
- Caribbean Shrimp Tacos: $8
And, in addition to the seafood fiesta, you can bring the kids along and check out Eco Farm on Wheels. What’s that, you ask? It’s a mobile farm and goes from spot to spot to help spread the ideal of sustainable farming. They’ll be there from 12-3 and there will also be a free salsa tasting. Gourganic Salsa is actually a Fairfield County based company who have been bottling salsa with the local and fresh ingredients.
Now, don’t be shellfish…bring a friend. ;)
