CT Food News: Restaurant Openings, Burgers, Beer, Booze, and Balls – 7/31/15

This week, we’ve got not only some great things to check out, but we’ve also got info on new restaurants, new hours for your favorite spots, and plenty of hop heavy CT Beer news. So, check it out, peoples:

8/1-2 Summerfest is coming to the Harbor Point Waterfront right on Harbor Point Road. There will be food, music, rides, games, a luxury car show, dogs, acrobats, a beer tent, and lots more. Tickets are $10 for adults, $4 for kids 6-12, and free for children 5 and under. If you’d like to buy a ticket in advance, click here.

8/5 Old Greenwich Farmers’ Market goes down every Wednesday from 2:30-6 at 38 West End Avenue.

Meatball & Co. in Darien is now offering cooking classes. Finally, your chance to roll some balls! There are classes for adults, kids, and Chef Joe Criscuolo can even come to your home! Colony Grill’s annual Hot Oil 5K is now open for registration. This race always sells out, so make sure to get your tix if you’re serious about racing . . . and eating pizza afterwords. The race is 11/8 and you can sign up here.

Openings and New Hours

Plan B Burger Bar in Fairfield is now open. Bourbon flights, burgers, beer? Oh yeah. 

Pizza Brick + Wood FairfieldOmNomCTSedona Taphouse in Norwalk is now open for business, people. Also, they are open for lunch, daily, staring at 11:30.  Have any of you been there yet? Whaddya think?

Silvermine Market in New Canaan has reopened with a new menu, new specials, and a new kitchen ready to feed your need.

Be on the lookout because renovations on The Fez in Stamford are just about done. Who’s ready?

Brick + Wood in Fairfield is now open from 11:30 until close on Sundays! Boom.

Check out Cottrell Brewing for a batch off the nano: Amarillo Blast. It’s a beer brewed by Chris Collins, their Home Brew Club Winner. It’s a Sess IPA with Amarillo and Columbus hops and weights in at 4.7% ABV.
