Hey, people, Slice of Saugatuck is back and you need to get yo’self there. All you need to do is bring $10 ($5 for kids) for a ticket on 9/12 from 12-3 in the Saugatuck part of Westport. When you arrive at any of the ticket stations or the main area in Bridge Square (where Kawa Ni is). After you purchase your entry, you’ll get a map of Saugatuck (deliciously shaped like a piece-a pizza) so you can find all the spots to discover. You’ll also get a Golden Passport that lists all the places where you can nom away on free bites of food. When you visit 10 or more spots (and why wouldn’t you?) you become eligible for various $25 gift certificates.
Restaurants participating this year include Black Duck, Collyer Catering & Market, Commuter Coffee, Cuatro Hermanos, Dunkin Donuts, Dunville’s, Embody Fitness Gourmet, Fleisher’s Craft Butchery, Garelick & Herbs, Harvest Wine Bar, JRs Hot Dogs, Julian’s Brick Oven Pizza, Kawa Ni, Olivette, Rainbow Thai, Rizzuto’s, Roly Poly, Saugatuck Sweets, Steam, Tarantino’s, Tarry Lodge, The Whelk, Tutti’s, Viva Zapata, and Westport Chinese Takeout. In addition, Ninety 9 Bottles will be holding a beer and wine tasting to help you wash down all that food.
But wait, there’s a ton more:
- Live music throughout the day including Battle of the Bands, B Side,
Pizza Dust, Grosvenor Square, Silver Steel, Jon Saxon and after the festival in Luciano Park Voodoo Carnival at 3 and Miss Suzy’s Opus at 5.
- Sales, demos, and chances to get involved (paddleboard, karate, an obstacle course, a climbing wall and more)
- A major portion of profits go to Homes with Hope’s Food Pantry at the Gillespie Center, too.
Because there is so much to check out, we definitely recommend stopping by near the start of this great event! Hopefully you can make it . . . and when you do, make sure to mention us on Facebook, Twitter, or tag us with #omnomct on Instagram. For complete listings of retail shops and experiences, check the Slice of Saugatuck site.
One of my favorite events!!! Had to re-share :-)

Will the restaurants be doing free tastings or will they have food for purchase? Or both?

Both, yes! Plenty to sample but the restaurants will also be open if you want to have a meal.
