Welcome to December, OmNomivores. Thankfully there is still so much to do, so many things to see, and so many things to experience here in Fairfield County and beyond! 12/4-5 Balducci’s of Greenwich (1050 East Putnam Avenue) will be hosting a very special Holiday Tasting Event and we’re excited to let you know! Come by from 11-6 on both days and enjoy samples of some great cheese and wine as well as some dishes from their Chanukah catering menu.
12/5 The Shelton CT Farmers’ Market has its first winter market day from 9-1 at 100 Canal Street in Shelton. Stock up on fresh goodies! :)
12/5 It’s Cider Saturdays at New Canaan Florist Garden & Gifts! Come by from 9-5 and you’ll be able to enjoy some hard cider while you shop for some holiday gear and decorations.
12/5 Don ye now your gay apparel and head out to Santa Con in Stamford from 12 pm – 2 in the morning! There are lots of restaurants participating with deals and specials, so check them out here.
12/6 Pop Shop Market hits Fairfield Theatre Company at 70 Sanford Street from 10-3. On hand will be a ton of vendors so you can get your holiday shopping done. PLUS, there will be food trucks, too, so you can eat up! We’re talking about The Buzz Truck and Chief Brody’s Banh Mi Truck among others! BOOM.
12/7, 12/14, 12/22 Geno Auriemma’s Radio Show will be broadcasting live staring at 6 pm right at Geno’s Grille in Storrs! Each show will feature special guests, an audience Q&A, giveaways, specials, and a chance to meet and talk with Geno himself. Geno’s Grille is located at 9 Dog Lane, Suite 101B in Storrs.
12/9 Brasitas in Stamford is hosting a five course Lapostolle Wine dinner with special guest Victoria Augustine from Brescome Barton. There will be a reception that starts at 6:30 with dinner starting at 7. Tickets are $65 per person and are going fast, so get them by calling (203) 323-3176 or e-mailing them.
12/6 Come to Rive Bistro in Westport and get in the holiday spirit for their lighting starting at 5. They will have wine for $6, beer for $4, and cocktails for $7 as well as passed hors d’oeuvre.
12/10 Parallel Post in Trumbull is hosting the last Farm-to-Trumbull dinner of the year at 7 and it’s going to be great. For $90 per person you’ll get welcome cocktails, small bites to start, a family style dinner, wine pairings, and their all you can eat dessert bar. For $110 per person you get all of that and your own autographed copy of The Connecticut Farm Table Cookbook. 12/10 Cask Republic New Haven is hosting an Ugly Sweater Party, starting at 5. They’ll have special brews from Allagash, Ballast Point, Oskar Blues, Sierra Nevada, and cask-conditioned beers from Stony Creek and NEBCo. In addition, they will be collecting toys for Yale’s Children Hospital, so come bearing gifts.
12/1o TruNorth Tavern & Table at 3171 Fairfield Ave. in Black Rock is having a very special tasting of Tito’s Vodka. Come down starting at 7 and you’ll not only get to taste, but also talk with the rep about this fine vodka.
12/10 From 6-8 take part in an epic Vertical Tasting and Evening with the winemaker at Stonington Vineyards. Tickets are $25 each, include the tastings of 6 samples of past vintages of their Oak Chard and Cab Franc and also some light bites of food. Buy your tix here.

12/6 Beer’d is hosting its first ever Mustache Bash from 1-5 at their brewery. There will be beer, raffles, pizza, and more all to raise money for Relay for Life. And, you’ll definitely want to check out their Midnight Oil Stout with blueberries because they’ll be donating 50% of sales right to Relay for Life.
12/10 Veracious Brewing is getting in on the Ugly Holiday Sweater Party action! Come by from 6-30-9 for a helluva lot of festive cheer and shots at prizes.
