We can’t ever get enough of Port Chester, ya know? And, while there are always a ton of different restaurants to try, we can’t help but come back to some of the same spots like Acuario. You can find this upscale Peruvian restaurant a few buildings down (163 North Main Street) from Tarry Market, near the start of the downtown area.
As you enter, we’re always surprised to see how it’s always so busy, even with extra tables outside. And, when we went a few months ago, it was so busy that we opted for the bar rather than wait for a table to free up. Our order? Well, it was the same as we normally order: the Ceviche Sampler. For $27 you get four different ceviches with crunchy corn on the side to add a little contrasting bite and to snack on.
But, Acuario isn’t just a Port Chester thing anymore! Just a few days ago they opened up their brand new Stamford spot at 78 W. Park Place where Azuca used to be. The menu is the same, so you can definitely look forward to trying lots of ceviche, but also classic Peruvian dishes that you’ll want to nom away on daily. Their Loma Saltado? Killer, yes, a definite order.
Also worth trying are their signature Pisco Sours and their housemade sangrias that the bartenders take great pride in (just ask, they’ll have a story to tell).
