CT Food News: Parties, Shopping, Food to Try, CT Beer + More – 12/10/15

12/10-13 Come down to 1 N Water Street in SoNo for the SONO Holiday Bazaar Marketplace. Hours are 3-9 Thursday + Friday, 10-7 Saturday and Sunday. There will be a ton of great things to buy including pasta and sauces from Bar Sugo and Dorest Maple Reserve (that’s maple syrup aged in bourbon barrels), plenty of crafts, and a great assortment of the perfect gifts. 

12/11 Dough Girls Pizza Truck will be at Half Full Brewery for their Open House from 6-9. Get some brews, get some pizza, rinse, repeat. 

Do it.

12/13 Get ready for some awesome BBQ prepared by Farmboys Smokin’ BBQ for ya right at Two Roads Brewing Stratford. Om nom nom.

12/14 Make sure to stop by Bodega Taco Bar in Fairfield for their Industry Night, Part 2, starting at 8:30! There will be a DJ, a pop up food truck with special tacos and cocktails, too. Also, help Bodega to make a difference this holiday season by bringing in canned food items to donate towards Operation Hope! 

12/21 Remember that Bareburger in Stamford opens today. More info here.

You’d be outta ur noggin to not try this!

Donut Crazy in Shelton has a donut that you’re gonna need a helluva lot of: Noggin Donut. That’s eggnog custard filled with rum flavored frosting, sugar and whipped cream topping with just a tiny pinch of nutmeg. 

Can Tiin in Bridgeport is now open so come see them from 11-10, Monday-Saturday. 

Wayne Steak House is taking the place of the Rodizio Grill in Stamford. Get ready hardcore carnivores!

Back 40 Kitchen in Greenwich is open for Saturday brunch, so don’t forget to stop by and eat the hell out of their awesome food. 

Buzzfeed recently named J. Timothy’s Taverne the most popular bar in Connecticut. And, after having been there, we can see why! Great beer, killer pub grub. Doesn’t get much better. Congrats!

12/11-12 Steady Habit Brewing will be closed Friday and Saturday, so you’ll have to wait until next week to get your fills.

12/12 Don’t forget that Beer Conn is going down with two special sessions today! 

12/12 3 Chick’s Grille will be at No Worries Brewing in Hamden. Hours for Saturday are 1-7.

12/13 Practice your yoga poses starting at 3, then, at 4, get some tastes of NEBCo brews and even fill up some growlers if you’d like. Reserve your space here.

12/13 Stop by Captain Lawrence in Elmsford, NY for their sour beer release party from 1-4. They are releasing both Hops N’ Roses and Sour Raspberry. You need tickets to attend, so buy them here . . . but buy before 12/13 because sales will stop then! 

12/17 Maine Beer Company takes over plenty of taps at Prime 16 Tap House + Burgers in New Haven, starting at 7. All your favorites are destined to be there, but they did say that Dinner won’t be there. Come on, you crazy? You need to get to the brewery for that good stuff! 

Break out the ugly sweaters! 

12/19 Black Hog is having an Ugly Sweater Party from 12-6 and you’re invited. Bring a toy to donate to Toys to Tots, too. Plus, get excited because Disco Pig 3.1 will be released. 

12/19 Kent Falls Brewing keeps on killing it and continues that tradition with the release of their Second Nature. It’s a saison that’s been aged in wine barrels with 200 pounds of local white peaches. Oh gawd yes. 

12/22 Keep this date open because this is when Coalhouse in Stamford will have an epic tap takeover starting at 5. On tap? NEBCo’s 668, Fuzzy Baby Ducks, Coconut Joy cask, Mystery Cask, Supernaut, Sea Hag, and Coriolis along with Beer’d Brewing’s Whisker’d Wit, Midnight Oil, 8 Days a Week, and a special Mystery Cask

1/30 Mark it . . . and mark it well: Igor Day is happening at Two Roads.

The new City Steam Naughty Nurse IPA has finally hit stores. What are your thoughts on this new brew? 

Hotbox Coffee Porter from Oskar Blues and Not Your Father’s Ginger Ale are soon to hit store shelves everywhere in the state. There are already reports of the Ginger Ale hitting New Haven and other counties, so sit tight if you don’t see it yet. 

Shebeen Brewing has added two new tanks to their arsenal, so expect more brews in the future. 

Outer Light Brewing has expanded their network with a partnership with Rogo Distributors. This means that more people will be able to drink their beer . . . and that’s great because we haven’t had the chance to yet!
