1/25 Starting at 7 pm at Elm City Social in New Haven there’s an Iron Bartender contest. They’ll be mixing things up with Copperfox Rye and Wasmunds single malt whiskey. Check it out, enjoy some noms from Chef Brennan, and down the $8 drink specials.
1/26 Check out elm in New Canaan for a 5-course wine-paired dinner. Tickets are $85 per person (tax and tip extra) and can be bought by calling (203) 920-4994.
1/27 Head back to Elm City Social from 5-midnight to raise some money for the New Haven Animal Shelter. 10% of all sales will go to them and there will also be raffles, special cocktails, and promises of weenies. LOL.
1/28 From 7-10, it’s 2 for 1 drinks at Cantina Tequila Bar + Southwest Grill in Stamford. Buy beer, sangria, or Cantina margaritas and get a second one free.
1/28 Wagon Riders will be playing Walrus + Carpenter in Black Rock starting at 8:30. Saddle on up to the bar, have some drinks, take down some grub, and enjoy some tunes.
2/4 Executive Chef Geoff Lazlo of Mill Street in Greenwich is hosting an afternoon tasting at 2 pm. You need to register by 1/28 and the cost is $35.
Donut Crazy has released their Peanut Butter Explosion: “Chocolate Glazed donut topped with chocolate frosting, Reese’s puff, chocolate peanut butter and vanilla drizzle and dollop of peanut butter.”
Chicken Joe’s in New Canaan has closed and now, in its place, there’s New Canaan Chicken. Cluck to it.
It’s crepe-y hour at Volta in Stamford Monday-Friday from 3-9. You’ll get any savory crepe with a glass of wine for just 15 bucks. Oui.

Aspetuck Brew Lab in Black Rock has tapped a special cask of Chocolate Stout for mug club members.
Relic is releasing lots of great brews this weekend that you’ll need to get your growlers filled with. They just released their Fore, a 10.5% Belgian quad aged on rum soaked plums, Double Dry Hopped The Huntress, and their Cygnet: “a creamy orange Imperial Oatmeal Amber.” Noms.
Thrillist doesn’t totally have CT beer it seems. They put out a list of the top 15 New England brews to try and NEBCo’s Imperial Stout Trooper made the list. BOOM.
Oskar Blues is releasing some new brews to CT shelves, so be on the lookout: Hotbox Coffee Porter and their Deviant Dales DIPA!
Two Roads in Stratford recently received two new 600 bbl fermenters. Hot damn that place is amazing.
