1/30 Brass Works Brewing in Waterbury is having their ribbon cutting ceremony today. It all starts at 12 and will include a grand opening party, beer tastings, and tours. Check out the brewery at 2066 Thomaston Avenue.

1/30 It’s Igor Day at Two Roads! Bottle sales start at noon with doors opening at 10. If you want a shot at one of the bottles, then definitely consider coming before 10. Bottles are $20 each of the 2016 Igor’s Dream with variants that have been aged in Maple Whiskey barrels or Scotch barrels coming in at $25.There are also limited amounts of their ’14 and ’15 vintages if you’re interested. 

2/1 Stop by Tidal River Brewing in Canton from 6-8 for their weekly Bottle Share. Just bring a bottle of some good stuff, share it, and drink some stuff that other people bring. BOOM!

2/4 Still Hill Brewery will be opening up their taproom and brewery from 2-8. Come by at 2 for a ribbon cutting featuring Rocky Hill Mayor Claudia Baio as well as others. After the ceremony, there will be tours and tastings, so come thirsty! SHB is located at Shunpike Business Center, 1275 Cromwell Ave. in Building C Unit 8/9.

2/6 Stony Creek Brewery is hosting their Snow Hole BBQ Bowl. Black Eyed Sally’s, Ricky D’s Rib Shack, and Hoodoo Brown will have BBQ on hand made with Snow Hole. Tix are $25 in advance or $30 at the door. That includes live music by Easy Baby Blues and your first free beer, as well as blues, BBQ, and a blazing firepit.  

Half Full in Stamford has a new brewmaster and some new brews that they’ll be canning soon like their Eternal Hoptimist DIPA, Gose without Saying, Gose with the Flow, Sensible Decision #2 Baltic Porter, and Hoptimism Bias DIPA.

Firefly Hollow has plenty on tap like their Bada Boom, BrownCoat Ale, Toadstool Oat Stout, Caboose English Ale, and Emily’s Choconut Porter. Plus, if you stop by on 1/30, you’ll get to chow down on Sonny’s Grinders!

Tidal River Brewing: CT’s newest brewery is opening up today at 4 and will have No Clever Name (that’s the name, clever, right?), Rattlesnake, Short and Punchy, and Dogs Barking at Fences on tap.

Kent Falls Brewing Company is on the lookout for an Assistant Brewer. Man, we can’t think of a cooler spot to have a job: right on a farmstead brewery! Beautiful.


1/31 Do you have your tix to the 16th Annual CT Real Ale Festival yet? It goes down from 12-5 at Bar Bru Room in New Haven and features over 50 different breweries who are casking it up! 

1/31 Drink Fuzzy Baby Ducks from NEBCo AND help charity? Damn, son. That’s exactly what you’ll do from 1-4 at Krust in Middletown. There will be $5 pints of FBD . . . and that’s the only alcohol you can drink during this time, so you better have a few pints while you’re there. All profits from this event will be donated to benefit Doug Roller’s mom, Janet, who was recently diagnosed with cancer. More info about helping out here.

2/3 It’s a virtual CT Beer Fest at Stew Leonard’s Wine Shops in Norwalk! There’s no charge at all for tastings of CT brews, but you need to RSVP here. The event runs from 6:30-8.

2/7 B.J. Ryan’s B•A•N•C House in Norwalk is hosting a New England Tap Takeover for the Super Bowl! Starting at 5 they’ll be featuring G-bot, Fuzzy Baby Ducks, Coriolis, and Seahag. :)

2/10 Starting at 11:30 in the a.m., it’s an AleSmith tap takeover at Prime 16 in New Haven. Two of the featured beers are My Bloody Valentine and Hawaiian Speedway Stout. 

2/11 Febtoberfest is happening at the Mattatuck Museum from 6-9 and will feature beer from the local regiion that has been paired with food. Plus, there will be music and even a little history if you’d like a little bit of edumacation. Tickets are $35 in advance and can be bought here

Craft 260 in Fairfield is a great spot if you want some awesome bites of food along with some carefully selected brews. You’ll be happy to know that they’ll have the newly opened Aspetuck Brew Lab that’s just down the road on tap on a regular basis. Right now they have their saison available: a must try.

New on Shelves

Ballast Point Pineapple Sculpin. We don’t really need to say more. Can’t wait for this to hit!

Kent Falls Juicemaker, their Waymaker with Brett and fresh mango. Oh, it’s just amazing, we had it last year. Get your hands on this if you can.
