Hmmm . . . Buffalo Trace barrels, a dark beer, a wanton, aloof look whilst smoking a pipe. Yeah, something’s going down! Picture of Tom Price from Half Full.

Although Jen Muckerman has been with Half Full Brewery in Stamford since the start of it all, she left mid-year in 2015. We talked with some of the crew at Half Full during their Halloween party and were told that they were in serious talks with a new headbrewer who’s had a ton of experience and comes from Brooklyn Brewery. We were excited at that notion and what it could mean for Half Full . . . especially for how people see their beer and brand.

Fast forward to the end of January when Half Full announced that they not only scored that headbrewer that they connected so well with, but also landed a new shift brewer.

Here’s more about both:

Tom Price, Headbrewer (info from Press Release)

Tom, a Mississippi native, graduated Cum Laude from Harvard University in 2002 with a B.A. in History and Literature and has spent the last 6+ years at Brooklyn Brewery where he ascended the ranks from Brewer to Lab Manager and ultimately to QA/QC Manager of the Williamsburg facility. While at Brooklyn Brewery, Tom oversaw the design and build-out of the onsite Laboratory as part of a brew-house expansion that helped propel the brewery from 75,000 to 225,000 barrels in 5 years and was instrumental in maintaining all aspects of Quality Control. As Head of Brewery Operations at Half Full, Tom will spearhead product innovation, maintain and enhance quality standards, manage production growth, monitor brew house efficiency, and oversee all brewery staff.

“I am very excited to be joining the team at Half Full,” says Tom. “We have a number of goals for 2016, the most notable of which is to emerge as a leader of our local craft beer movement, and I’m optimistic that we will make that happen. I’ve joined a very aspirational crew here at Half Full Brewery.”

McLain Cheney, Shift Brewer (From Press Release)

McLain graduated from the University of Vermont in 2011 with a B.A. in Sustainable Landscape and Horticulture with a concentration in Viticulture.  He has spent the last two years in a number of roles at the Aspen Brewing Co. and will be involved in all aspects of production and packaging at Half Full Brewery.
