Black Rock has always been a thriving community, but it has grown even more over the past few years with a great variety of restaurants and shops coming in. It has especially blossomed due to the start of the Black Rock Farmers’ Market three years ago. Fresh meats, cheeses, veggies, homemade products galore—the BRFM definitely made a big splash on the scene.
Well, they are back for some more this year with their season starting on June 18 from 9-1 and will be back every Saturday all the way up until October 15. BRFM can be found at 481 Brewster Street right where Bridgeport and Fairfield meet. All forms of payment are accepted and if you’re paying with SNAP/EBT, you get $2 worth of food for $1.
Here are just some of the great items that you’ll find at BRFM:
Vegetables, fruit, cheese, eggs, bread, meats, jams, pickles, syrup, honey, coffee, tea, donuts from Whisk + Brush’s Dixie donut trailer, ice cream, prepared foods, beauty care products, pet supplies, flowers, and products from local artisans. The farms featured at BRFM are Sport Hill Farm, Aradia Farm, Creative Shepherd Farm, Maitri Farm, and Sweet Acre Farm.
In addition, there will be vendors that feature vintage and other artisanal items, yoga classes, games, music, and plenty of family-fun activities.
See you there!
