This new festival brings together a restaurant, a brewery, vendors, charities, community groups, musicians, and more to celebrate not only the Black Rock Community but also the 3 year anniversary of Walrus + Carpenter. Just stop by the corner of Fairfield Avenue and Jetland Street in Black Rock from 1-6 and get your nom . . . and groove . . . on.

The Beat the Heat Hot Wing Challenge was moved from last weekend to the 30th at 2 pm! 

The Wing Shop at 1055 Huntington Turnpike in Bridgeport has a proposition for you: are you brave enough to handle their hottest wings ever? If you think you’re up to the challenge, you can sign up for theBeat the Heat Hot Wing Challenge starting at 2 pm on 1/23! There is no cost to enter, aside from losing your dignity if you give up! But, if you win, you’ll have some serious street cred and will gain some major bragging rights!

Well, get your arse down to the 2nd Annual Beer Conn on 12/12 for two sessions of ridiculously awesome beer. Like last year, Beer Conn is being held indoors at Webster Bank Arena in Bridgeport and you can either check out Session 1 from 12:30-4 or Session 2 from 5:30-9. Tickets are just $35 as long as you buy tix in advance, but increase to $45 if you’re disorganized or lazy and buy them the day of.

Harbor Brew Fest 2015 is this Saturday, October 17, at The Ballpark at Harbor Yard and to say we’re excited would be a crazy understatement. It’s one of our favorite beer fests in the state and always surprises us how it seems to get better each year.  

Well, what makes it so great? 

1) The Brewer’s Special experience actually makes you feel like a VIP. You get in an hour early (12-5) and even get access to the Brewer’s Beer Garden, plus your own VIP Tasting Glass. Those tix are $60 each and very worth it.

2) Whether you get the Brewer’s Special or General Admissions, you get unlimited samplings of beer, no brainer. These tix are $40 and get you in from 1-5. Check out the list at the end of this post. There’s also a DD ticket for $20 if you wanna be nice. 

3) Food trucks. Yeah, plenty of ’em this year: The Meat Truck, Poutine Gourmet, Chompers, Munchies, Melt Mobile, Lobstercraft, and Taco Pacifico.

Toni’s Tuscan Table Reopens in Bridgeport w/ Grand Re-Opening Event + Deals

We kind of feel bad sharing this because we know that Toni’s Tuscan Table is a little gem that not everyone has discovered yet . . . so, we know people will be pissed at us for blowing up their spot, but we’ve got some great news to share. Yup, Toni’s Tuscan Table has moved and reopened at 1006 Broad Street in Bridgeport.

This Saturday, June 20, marks the second year that The Black Rock Farmer’s Market hits that sweet spot between Fairfield and Bridgeport. Just a primer: BRFM is held every Saturday from 9-1 at the field adjacent to St. Ann Church on 481 Brewster Street all the way up until October 17. And, it’s definitely more than your typical market with special artisan markets on the last Saturday of every month, talks, cooking demos, activities, and more.

Well, we’ll let you know what’s up by telling you about a great new event that Taco Loco in Bridgeport has planned: The 1st Annual Fairfield County Tequila Takeover. This ode to agave will feature more than 15 different tequila bands, music, a cocktail competition, and even food trucks. Tickets are very affordable at $25 and that gets you unlimited tastings of the tequila and the cocktails. Plus, to keep things organized nicely, they’re going to have two sessions: 1-3 and 4-6. 

Taste of Black Rock 2015 ft. Local Restaurants, Wine + Beer from Harry’s

The Burroughs Community Center in Black Rock is celebrating another year of bringing the community together via workshops, experiences, workshops, and gallery showings with the Taste of Black Rock annual party. This year, the party goes on from 7:30-10 pm on 2/7 right the Burroughs Community Center at 2470 Fairfield Avenue. Tickets cost $35 in advance or are $45 at the door.
