But, at Milkcraft, the newly opened ice cream shop in Fairfield, the experience has completely changed . . . and for good reason.

This new festival brings together a restaurant, a brewery, vendors, charities, community groups, musicians, and more to celebrate not only the Black Rock Community but also the 3 year anniversary of Walrus + Carpenter. Just stop by the corner of Fairfield Avenue and Jetland Street in Black Rock from 1-6 and get your nom . . . and groove . . . on.

The 2016 Craft 260 Cask Festival is taking place at the Scandinavian Club in Fairfield from 1-5 on June 12 . . . and there are a whole cask full of reasons to go. Well, actually, more than 40 casks full of options. That’s because 20+ local breweries from CT and the Northeast will be on hand with two casks each. Both casks that each brewery brings will have the same exact base beer, but there will be two different recipes to create two different beers. Also, it wouldn’t be much of a beer fest if there wasn’t food involved . . . and lucky for you that Craft 260 which we gave a 3.75 Nom rating to, will be catering the event! There will also be live music playing all day including Hide & Seek and CT’s own The Alpaca Gnomes. Plus, it’s damn nice to say that they will be offering up a portion of proceeds directly to the Connecticut Fallen Heroes Foundation.

It’s important to have goals in life. For some people it’s a successful career, for others it’s to buy a home, or perhaps for some, it’s to travel the world. All those goals are awesome, but we like to focus on smaller, more immediately gratifying goals on our path to those bigger goals. You know, like getting our asses out of bed before hitting snooze for a 3rd time, or hitting Tree House on a rare can release, and, well a loooong list of #foodgoals of course!

Well, after we met Chef Chris Gonzalez last year when he started up Hapa Food Truck, we knew his new restaurant, Miro Kitchen in Fairfield, had to be at the top of our #foodgoals list.

Cinco de Mayo is just a few days away . . . and we’ve got some great news to share coming from Bodega Taco Bar. Which one, OmNom, which one? BOTH! But how do we decide which one to go to, OmNom? Well, it depends what you’re into:

Darien will have a pig roast, Patron tequila specials, music from PanaMusik, and a pop-up beer garden. Fairfield will feature the Bodega food truck, a sidewalk margarita bar, more Patron tequila specials, and “strolling guitar music.” If you are as hardcore as we hope you are, you could easily hit up one then get to the other. ;)

Then, just tres days later, check out their Mother’s Day brunch from 11-4 or dinner from 4-10. You take mom out, she gets a free cocktail. ;)

We’ve been following MIRO Kitchen for a bit, but we’re happy to share some great news that we got just got from owner Eugene Kabilnitsky: they’re opening soon. Oh, and it’s gonna be a great spot to check out! That’s because the menu will feature the food of Hawaii, Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and Hong King. We’re talking Pacific-style tacos, Asian-inspired small plates, family style plates, killer salads, and great sides . . . and those flavors are coming from a familiar face or two.
