TBB Breakfast Sandwich: house slab bacon, farm egg, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, hash browns with Sriracha Mayo on their signature toasted Portuguese Muffin. All photos from The Brunch Box’s FB page.

We love the variety of food trucks that you can find here in Fairfield County. You’ve got trucks that focus on grilled cheese, meatball subs, pierogies, tacos, lobster rolls, burgers, fries, arepas, exotic foods . . . and now you can devour some brunch specialties. Oh hell yes, you heard right! The Brunch Box launched just four weeks ago in Stamford and has met with major success so far. In fact, they were so successful this weekend, that they sold out of their signature Portuguese Muffins that they get shipped especially for them from MA.

Rizzuto’s Stamford Hosts Super Bowl Party w/ Free Wing Buffet, Prizes, Tailgate Menu + Drink Specials

27 Jan

Rizzuto's Super Bowl Party

Rizzuto’s Stamford is now closed. In its place will be Westchester Burger Co.

Look, the Super Bowl comes but one time a year, so if you’re gonna go out and watch the game, you better do it right. Yes, you need to order wings, but how about a free wing buffet during half time that features Buffalo, BBQ, and Spicy Asian along with 1/2 price draft beers, house wine, and cocktails? No-freaking-brainer. But, well, that doesn’t mean you can’t order more during the game, right?

Rizzuto’s Stamford, where all this madness goes down, will be have Hot Cherry Pepper, Mild, Hot Buffalo, and Fig BBQ wings up on their special Tailgate Menu. Also up will be appetizers like Fried Ravioli, five kinds of sliders, classics like Smokey Chipotle Bacon Mac n’ Cheese, three kinds of fries, and seven different kinds of pizza pies like the Sunday Morning Pie that includes two sunny side up eggs, bacon, potatoes, onions, peppers, Cheddar, and Mooz.

Gettin’ Slap Happy off o’ Pappy – Plan B Milford

22 Dec

We’re sure that we had you right at Pappy Van Winkle, so let’s just get down to things right away, huh? Plan B Milford hosted a Pappy Dinner and damn right we got our tickets within minutes of them going on sale. See, we learned our lesson from last year when Plan B Stamford hosted a Pappy dinner and Milford held a Buffalo Trace + Pappy Dinner, and they sold out in like an hour or something crazy like that. After all, many people say it’s the best bourbon you’ll ever taste, so it’s really no surprise.

The 2014 OmNomys: Celebrating the Best in Food in Fairfield County

15 Dec

Logo for OmNomys

Well, here we are, already at the end of 2014. Man, how time flies. But fret not friends, because the end of another year means another celebration of the best of the best in Fairfield County. That’s right, it’s time for the 4th Annual OmNomys! By now most of you know how this works, but for those of you new here, this is a list of the best that we’ve experienced in 2014… NOT necessarily the best EVER in Fairfield County. If your favorite spot or food didn’t make it on here, maybe it was on our list back in 2011, 2012, or 2013… and if not, let us know so we can check it out in 2015!

So, without further ado, here we go:

Best Ambiance: Cask Republic, Stamford

With not one, but two fireplaces, Cask Republic has a warm, rustic, and down-homey kind of vibe going on. It’s hard to think of a chill spot with more class. It’s the perfect place to meet up with friends, have some drinks (from which there are many to choose), and try out some great gastropub grub.

Bacon Week Set to Sizzle at Plan B Burger Bar in Milford

10 Sep

(All photos provided by Plan B Milford)

If there’s something that we’ve figured out about Plan B, and specifically Plan B Milford, when they set their minds on something, they destroy it.  Like, seriously…they kill it.  Case in point:  The Third Annual Bacon Week at Plan B Milford.  Want a bucket of bacon?  Done!  Want to eat a “healthy” Swine salad, bacon candy bars, or bacon candy apples?  Done, done, done! Want to add bacon to anything on the menu?  Done!   Even more killer?  They’ve infused bacon into their mixed drinks, too!  So, without further delay (we know you’re probably sitting in a puddle of drool now), here’s the menu along with the cocktails that you’ll get to devour September 15-21:

Truck or Treat? Have Both at the Meriden Food Truck Fest! An OmNomCT Exclusive.

1 Sep
Sure, on the weekend of October 25 (12-10) & 26 (11-8) you could go to any ‘ole Halloween party and get some candy, chips, and if you’re lucky a cute little cupcake with a gummy worm on top… or you could go to the Westfield Mall in Meriden and hit up the Meriden Food Truck Fest where you can stuff your face with fantastic food from an estimated 40 food trucks. With both trucks AND treats, there’s no excuse not to go…
But OmNom, the best part of Halloween parties is we can dress up in slutty, errr, I mean scary, costumes!
Fret not our friends, the Meriden Food Truck Festival has you covered. They WANT you to come dressed in your best costume and they’ll have a professional photographer booth set up so you can show it off.
