Stamford is no stranger to pizza joints, especially when you count ’em up on Hope Street. Misto, Vinny’s Backyard, Amore, Springdale Pizza, Hope Pizza, Pappas, Papa John’s (gag), and even (double gag) Domino’s. But now there’s another place for Stamfordites and Springdalers to go: Riko’s Pizza. Their new restaurant is loacted at 886 Hope Street and is right next to Bank of America and is directly across from the Springdale train station. Park on the road (bring quarters) or in their newly paved lot to the left of the restaurant. Their newest spot is replacing their 581 Newfield Avenue location.

Win 2 Tix to Hoptoberfest Craft Beer Fest + Wing Contest in Shelton
30 SepWe’ve grown to become very picky about our hot wings. Seriously, like super picky. We’ve had some awesome wings around the state, so we’re always keeping a mental wingopedia when we try new ones. So, we’d like to help you to add more wings to to that wingopedia in your noggin with two free tickets to Hoptoberfest Craft Beer Festival & Wing Contest! All you need to do is tell us how you like your wings here, on FB, or on Twitter using #Wingopedia. If we were entering (which we aren’t, that’d be mean if we won our own contest!), we’d say something like, “I like my wings spicy. Like, actually spicy…not fake spicy.” The contest starts now and goes until Friday (10/3) at noon when we’ll announce the winner on our FB page and Twitter feed.
Here are the deets for Hoptoberfest…and note that if you get your tickets online, they are still pretty affordable at only $25:
Relic Brewing Celebrates 2 Years at J. Timothy’s Taverne with Wing + Beer 4 Course Dinner – Plainville, CT
10 FebRelic Brewing of Plainville has been making small batch craft brews for two years now. So, it’s only right to celebrate with lots of beer and…you guessed it…hot wings. But, we’re not talking ’bout any old standard boring hot wings. We’re talking ’bout the nationally recognized wings of J. Timothy’s Taverne in Plainville. That’s right, the Daily Meal recently placed them at #2 in their “America’s 25 Best Buffalo Wings” list.
Bring It: New England Brewing Co. Fest 2014 @ Little Pub
4 FebDumb snowstorm. We don’t even know what the ridiculous name of this past storm was (Merlin? Lucius? Voldemort?), but we know that it sucked mainly because it hit the pause button on NEBCO Fest at Little Pub in Ridgefield. But, chill…it was just the pause button. There’s still plenty of New England Brewing Company brews available…and they’ve been aging for an extra day! We bet you can taste that added depth that the day put in.
