9th Annual Stamford Charity Chili Cook-Off Stewing up this Sunday!

One of our favorite events of the year is the ever-growing and ever-popular Stamford Charity Chili Cook-Off. Started as a small event in a local Stamford church, this event has grown every year with more competitors and even more hungry tasters. This year the tradition continues on November 6 from 11-3 right at Stamford Museum & Nature Center. There will be 15 home cooks, chefs, and restaurants this year, all vying for your votes! Who will win the coveted first place prize? Will Mayor Martin’s chili take down the competition? Will the students at JM Wright Tech uphold their number one spot? Also, who will be the contestants who win special trophies and rewards from four special judges (more on this below)?

26 Food Trucks, Music, Craft Beer + More @ Food Trucks in the Valley 2016

The 3rd annual Food Trucks in the Valley is now just 10 days away, so you better start getting ready. Scope out the 26 food trucks (full list later in this post) that will be there and figure out a good eating strategy. Wash it all down with some craft beer, specifically New Belgium who is one of the sponsors. Then, while you’re there, check out live music, a car show, artisan products, food samples from local restaurants, and lots more.

Discounted Tix for 6th Annual CT Chef’s Challenge Still Available

From now until September 1, you can get your Connecticut Chef’s Challenge tix at a discounted rate. Yup, for just $60 you can pick up a ticket that would normally cost $75. Entry gets you in on the action as you watch some of CT’s best chefs compete, passed apps, dessert, and free wine and beer. Or, you could buy a VIP ticket  ($100) that gets you into the Chef’s Reception and gets you a chance at winning a seat at the Chef’s Table Tasting Seat. There are also other seating options available that get you a guaranteed seat at the Chef’s Tasting Table.

Look at these five food trucks and what they are throwing down for today’s Food Truck Throwdown! Honestly, we’re going to have the toughest time judging all these amazing dishes. But, it’s not just about us judging, you also get a vote and say in crowning the People’s Choice champ! It all starts at 4 today at 805 Atlantic Street in Stamford. Tickets are $25 and that gets you a 4-6 oz. sample from each truck plus lots of fun and events. Proceeds from this event will go towards Optimus Health Care who fights to “Improve the overall health of our communities in Bridgeport, Stamford, and Stratford, particularly the medically underserved, by providing preventive, primary care and supplemental health care services along with health education in a culturally sensitive manner regardless of ones’ ability to pay.”
