Use “OMNOM” as your code to scratch a little off the cost…

Helping out PAWS ain’t so ruff, especially when they’ve just set up a code to scratch $10 bucks off the $45 price for a PAWS Uncorked (see our original post here) ticket.  All you need to do is click right here through to the registration page, then enter “OMNOM” (without the quotes of course, n00bs) in the space where it says Promo Code.  Here’s one catch:  you need to buy your tickets by 4/16/14.
Remember that the event is taking place on Sunday, April 27, 2014 from 5-8 pm at the Stamford Marriott and is a brand new fundraiser for PAWS .  They are the awesome people who help to rescue, protect, and find fur-ever homes for pets throughout Fairfield County.  As of 4/4, here’s the lineup of the great restaurants, bakeries, and vendors that are a part of this event…plus don’t forget that BevMax will be featuring whiskey, wine, and beer:

One sip, one bite and you’re a Lorca-vore for life! Lorca, Stamford

4 Jun

Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, and cruddy deli, diner, or gas station coffee. Those have really been the only options for you if you wanted a pick me up in Stamford. Well, that was until Leyla Dam opened up Lorca on the lively Bedford Street. Her view on coffee and cafes? Only serve the best quality beans, only make coffee with the best methods that highlight the flavors, support local bakers like Wave Hill Breads, and make food from scratch. Looks like a great view to us!

As we entered, we loved how cute and quaint Lorca was. There are a few tables to sit at, a beautiful exposed brick wall, and a coffee counter with a bright churros sign pulling you in. Churros you say?  Oh, yes the churros. You might say she’s just a bit of an expert. See, she actually spent time in Spain learning the art of  churro making. So, needless to say, we were drooling for months waiting to finally try ’em.

You probably heard us talking about the Chocolate World Expo being held on 1/27, but didn’t you know that the love of chocolate and all things sweet never end?  Yes, it’s true!  Even if you filled up on chocolate then, by the time 2/7 comes along for the Chocolate, Dessert, & Wine Lover’s Evening you’ll be ready for some more!

Now, look at this line up of chocolate crammers, cupcake creators, sweets sharers, and drink dabblers!  You’ll also notice from the lineup that there will be a Valentine Gift Boutique where you can purchase some non-sweet goodies for your little pooh bear.  This all goes down on February 7 from 6-9 pm at the Stamford Marriott as part of the Chocolate, Dessert, & Wine Lover’s Evening to raise money for Shelter for the Homeless.  Tickets are just $45 if you buy tickets on or before 2/6 or will be $50 when you buy them on the day of the event.  Either way, all of the money is going to help out Shelter for the Homeless, so you’ll definitely want to get your tickets.  Plus, you can look forward to auctions, live music, raffles, and lots more.  Here are all the great food and drinks that will be available, plus we’re adding in the stores that will be a part of the boutique.  Ciao.
