Lots of us have the week off or some much needed downtime over the next few days, so let’s make the most of it, right? And, we’ll definitely help to do our part by giving you some great things to do, check out, and be a part of. Also, please check out this list of places in Fairfield County that will be hosting special Easter brunches and dinners.

4/3 LeRouge in Westport will be hosting a special chocolate egg decorating day! You’ll get to paint 6 mini eggs each and 1 medium egg. Times are 10-11, 5-6, or 6:30-7:30 and the cost is either $25 per person or $80 for a family of 4. Call up Aarti at (203) 293-6106 to set your spot!

CT Food + Beer News, Vol. 13: Openings, Closings, Parties, and Drinks

We hate to say this, but the summer is fluttering fast by us with August soon on the way.  So, let’s slow things down a bit and soak up all the awesome things ogling on this week and next week.  Trust us, there’s a ton to do like a bunch of food events and parties, liquor tastings and classes, openings and closings, and of course…beer news.

7/19  Before (or after) you head over to Fairway Stamford for the Firefighters Cook-off, stop by Stop & Shop Ridgeway from 10-1 for a food drive run by Backyard Humanitarian.  They need cereal and other non-perishable goods.

New England Brewing Company to Sail to New Home in Woodbridge

It’s official!  New England Brewing Company has been approved for a brand new spot for their brewery.  Their spot right now at 7 Selden Street in Woodbridge worked well for them at a time, but if you’ve been there you know how small the area is.  The smaller building makes it harder to not only brew great amounts of types of beer, but also doesn’t provide the kind of experience they’d love to give you for a tasting area.  Not that we minded getting some samples of the brews then heading around the brewery on a tour, but the new brewery on 175 Amity Road will be a major game changer for them.  Plus it’s just right around the block (literally around the block) so they can probably just carry over all their equipment. ;)
