Well, that’s super easy with 1000 Passions!
Colony Grill has always been a major supporter of the military. If you go to any of their restaurants, you can see photos of servicemen and women on the wall. And, when any member of the military (active or inactive) comes from 11:30 until close at either the Fairfield, Milford, or Stamford spot on Veteran’s Day, they’ll get a free pizza. Please note that this applies to only sit-down orders and make sure to bring verification.
Colony Grill would like to thank you for your ravenous support this year and every year with a special Christmas Customer Appreciation event. This is all you have to do: stop by Colony Grill in Fairfield, Milford, or Stamford on 12/23 from 2-5 and dine-in pizzas are free. Free? Free!
A while back we wrote about a special TV filming at the cult legend pizza of Connecticut: Colony Grill. At the time, all we knew that it was for a new show on a major network. Well, we’ve got the scoop for ya: Colony Grill of Stamford will be featured on a brand new Cooking Channel show called Pizza Cuz. The series premiere is May 6 and the Colony Grill episode will air Monday, May 13 at 9 pm on Cooking Channel. We’ll have more information about the show and the episode shortly, but in the meantime, check out the episode description:
Colony Grill in Stamford has long been one of the pizza places that people throughout Connecticut (and beyond) talk about, many arguing that it’s the best. Maybe it’s the hot oil, maybe it’s the fresh sausage made right across the street, or maybe it’s just the no-frills attitude of a simple menu of just ingredients…whatever the maybe is, it’s hard to find a person who hasn’t at least tried Colony’s pizza. Well, it seems that more people will be on to this pizza joint with the filming of a national TV show. While the specifics of the show aren’t out yet, you can try to get into the background or maybe you’ll even be one of the lucky people who gets interviewed during the taping next week. Yes, just show up for lunch at 11:30 am on Wednesday, 1/9 and you can witness the taping.
As you know, there always seems to be a wait at Colony Grill Stamford, so if you want to take a part in the TV magic, make sure you get there early. Just think, this could be the start of your big career as a commentator on food shows. Think of what you’ll say now and practice, practice, practice. :) If you want some advice about what to talk about, check out our first review of Colony Grill, Stamford or our take on the Riko’s Pizza controversy.
Keep on noming!
If you’ve been to Colony Grill, you can see by the photos on their walls how much they care about veterans and those who serve the public. On 11/12, any United States Armed Services veteran who comes into their Stamford or Fairfield locations will receive a free pizza. To get their free pie, vets should present a valid military photo ID. You’ll need to eat the pizza at Colony Grill (no takeout deal), from 11:30 am to 11 pm.
In return, Colony Grill would love to get your military photos so they can be put up on display. According to their FB post, Colony Grill has about 1,000 photos of veterans on their walls already. The photos can be black and white or color. The best size is 8×10 or 8.5×11. Colony Grill will frame the pictures, so all you need to do is bring the picture.
This is a great way to honor veterans and to remember the veterans in your life who gave so much. Even if you aren’t a veteran, think about stopping by Colony Grill on Monday to help support a restaurant that loves to give back to the community and those who sacrificed so much.

They started in Stamford, expanded to Fairfield, then recently opened up shop in Avon. Colony Grill (our review) will also sling their famous thin crust pizza with those classic pock marks in downtown Milford Green starting early 2013.
Colony Grill Milford plans to honor people who have served in the United States Armed Forces, police officers, fire fighters, or emergency responders. Like their other locations, they’ll have the pictures up on display to show their appreciation for all these heroes’ sacrifices, devotion, and time.
The black and white or color photos must have the service man or woman in uniform and can be e-mailed or mailed. Send the digital photo to info@colonygrill.com or to Colony Grill “Photos”/1520 Post Road/Fairfield, CT 06824. Make sure that the shots are 8 x 10 or 8 1/2 x 11. Colony Grill will frame the photos, so you should just send them in a nice envelope with some padding so they don’t get bent.
172 Myrtle Avenue in Stamford, CT 1520 Post Road in Fairfield, CT 315 West Main Street in Avon, CT 36-38 Broad Street in Milford, CT (Opening early 2013)You know the list of ingredients to choose from at Colony Grill:
Meatball, sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, onions, black olives, cherry peppers, stingers, hot oil, anchovies, peppers, and bacon.
Well, they’re adding a few more into the mix this Memorial Day, 5/28. At their Fairfield location on Post Road starting at 8:30 am, you’ll be able to get two new pies. You can either have the bacon & egg pie or the sausage & egg pie. Nothing says morning like a breakfast pizza!
Then, once you’ve had your fill, head outside to watch the parade that starts at 10. The parade will march along east down Post Road to the library, then head south and east down Old Post Road, passing Town Hall Green.
Don’t forget that Memorial Day isn’t just a day when you don’t have to go to work…it’s a day to remember and honor those who died fighting for us and our freedom. I’m very fortunate to still have my dad. As a Marine, he fought in Vietnam and earned two purple hearts. Oorah!
So, drive on down to Colony Grill in Fairfield, have one or more breakfast pizzas with your friends and family, then check out the parade together.
