You need some of this in your life . . . and face. All of it in your face.

Comfort food, you’ve met your match. Well, technically, you’ve met your match when Magee’s Curbside opened up at 72 Magee Avenue. We recently had a chance to go and check them out and came out impressed after a brunch that featured some great dishes.

So, imagine how excited (and torn we were) when we stopped by Indeed Stamford today and saw The Brunch Box, Hapa Food Truck, and Magee’s Curbside’s new (two weeks new) truck! Priorities of  just getting Hapa changed (we still got Hapa too, don’t worry) because, well, what kind of bloggers would we be if we didn’t try out the new truck? Right? Right. Continue reading

The NEW Georgetown Saloon: same chill vibe, now w/ awesome menu to match! – Redding, CT

The OLD Georgetown Saloon was known for that no frills, down and dirty, neighborhood dive bar vibe that locals can’t get enough of. The NEW Georgetown Saloon still is that, but this time around new owner, Chris Forland, and new chef, John Brennan (formerly Executive Chef of Plan B Burger Bar) kicked it up about a million notches with kickass, modern comfort food and creative cocktails that fit the vibe perfectly. So in honor of that super chill vibe, let’s just get down and dirty with the experience, food, and cocktails.

The Experience

From what our friends tell us, the restaurant itself still has a lot of the same decor elements it had back in the day, but Chef Brennan himself amped it up by picking out some new, fun, modern additions (like graffiti), perfecting that neighborhood, roadhouse vibe that makes you want to hang there all night. There’s still a great stage for fun entertainment (we were there for Open Mic Night on Thursday) and TVs for the sports lovers. In fact, once the word gets out about all the new awesomeness Georgetown Saloon has to offer, we can see this place getting PACKED with fun entertainment every night.

The whole restaurant speaks to the word CRAFT, even the decor

The whole restaurant speaks to the word CRAFT, even the decor

Craft 260 has been on our to-eat list since it opened on February 13 of this year, but sometimes we’re bad bloggers and get too lazy to haul our asses up to Fairfield. It’s not that we don’t love Fairfield…we do.  In fact, it use to be our old stomping grounds. It’s just that we get sidetracked by all the nomworthy places in between here and there…like food blogger A.D.D. But, our good friends Kevin and Aly recently moved up that way, so we knew it was about time…

We weren’t sure where exactly Craft 260 was, but quickly figured out it was in that little shopping center/strip mall with Michael Gennaro’s Steakhouse, Giove’s Pizza Kitchen (No Name Pizza all day!), and a vodka bar that’s coming soon. An odd location for sure, but we weren’t going to let that deter us.
